About the Role
A well-established OPWDD-focused organization is looking for a Chief of Clinical Services to lead its entire clinical division. This is a senior executive role for a licensed clinician who knows the OPWDD world inside and out, from population health and risk stratification to incident management and regulatory compliance. You'll be the organization's top clinical voice with government agencies, managed care organizations, and healthcare systems, shaping strategy at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Strategy
- Direct and oversee the organization's clinical services and clinical leadership team
- Develop and implement clinical strategies, protocols, and best practices to improve outcomes
- Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning, program development, workforce initiatives, and organizational growth
Quality, Risk & Compliance
- Oversee population health initiatives, including risk stratification to identify high-risk individuals
- Monitor clinical trends, outcomes, and performance metrics to drive quality improvement
- Provide executive oversight of incident management, including trend analysis, root cause review, and corrective action planning
- Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, Health Home requirements, Medicaid guidelines, and other regulatory standards
External Relations & Representation
- Serve as clinical subject matter expert for complex medical, behavioral, and care management situations
- Build and maintain relationships with OPWDD, government agencies, healthcare systems, provider organizations, and community partners
- Represent the organization during audits, regulatory reviews, and external meetings
Qualifications
- Active New York State clinical license required (RN, LCSW, LMHC, Psychologist, NP, or equivalent)
- Master's degree in a clinical or healthcare-related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience overseeing clinical teams and services
- Experience in OPWDD, Health Home, Managed Care, or related healthcare settings
- Demonstrated experience in population health, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and clinical operations
- Experience working directly with OPWDD and other regulatory agencies preferred
