Banner Health's IT Integrated Health Solutions (ITIHS) Department is seeking a talented professional to join our Nursing and Throughput team. In this high-impact role, you'll be at the forefront of healthcare technology, supporting critical clinical applications that directly improve patient care and nursing workflows across Banner Health's extensive network. You'll work with cutting-edge systems including Cerner applications (PowerForm, iView, Task, Care Teams, Patient List), Bridge Medical, Cerner Capacity Management, Cerner Command Center, Cerner CareView, Clairvia Acuity and Demand and Assignment Manager, LeanTaaS iQueue for Inpatient, and many other applications. Your work will support clinical staff including nurses, physicians, and health professionals across hospital departments, care units, ambulatory services, and various Banner Health facilities system wide.

This fully remote position offers exceptional career growth opportunities within a collaborative team of 10 members. You'll work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (with additional hours as needed during implementations and go-lives, which may require occasional weekend support), and participate in an on-call rotation. As part of this high-visibility role, you'll partner regularly with diverse teams including Nursing Informatics, Engagement, Project Managers, and other IT teams to implement and optimize health information systems that ensure seamless data exchange and enhance clinical workflows. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is a high-level individual contributor with expertise in selected business and healthcare processes and participates in formulating system scope and objectives relative to business requirements utilizing previous clinical expertise. Acts independently or as part of a team to provide knowledge, guidance, research and fact-finding expertise to define, design and modify specifications and processes of complex information systems. Incumbent adheres to system documentation standards and quality assurance methodologies for systems and applications.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Business Outcomes: Relentless focus on delivering outcomes and value to our business. Identifies, investigates, tracks, and resolves multi-level project, system or application errors ensuring the resolution is timely with a high degree of accuracy and quality.   Determines which option is appropriate based on the unique situation. Ensures timely updates and communication to the customer. Participates in the designs of end user training and curriculum for applications and systems. Monitors the initial rollout and ongoing support of the user community. Is able to assess what is important, balances priorities, and creates a clear and effective plan to drive desired outcomes, uses time management effectively and measures progress.

2. Technology Standards: Responsible to create technical documents to include process maps, Business Requirement Documents, system diagrams, application maps, test plans, work instructions, etc. Stores documents in central location for broader IT access. Develops and consistently updates fully integrated testing scenarios. Provides information to be incorporated as part of the comprehensive functional and integration testing plans.  Coordinates change management documentation and ensures that approvals are managed according to departmental procedures and ITIL standards.

4. Advisor and Partner: Provides information for staff and various committees assisting with design, implementation and maintenance of application and system specifications and processes. Participates and may lead task forces to plan, implement, and coordinate facility activities to maximize information technology service quality, effectiveness and efficiency; acts as a liaison, proactively garnering input from clinical customers and translating that input into specific functional requirements to be implemented. Maintains current professional and technical knowledge related to the healthcare industry by attending educational workshops/conferences, establishing personal networks, and/or maintaining relevant certification or licensure as business needs require.

5. Communication: Speaks effectively in group situations, e.g., meetings, presentations. Expresses ideas in a clear, concise and thorough manner. Simplifies technical or complex information without insulting the listener/reader. Takes measures to ensure understanding has occurred. Asks questions to clarify or discern implied or poorly expressed meanings. 

6. Measurements: Ensures Key Performance Indicators are supported and tracked in all levels of work effort. Clearly defines success and implements the measurements to understand when success is achieved.

7.  Strategic/Leadership: Provides expertise and guidance to the user community and mentors junior members of the department.  Consistently displays awareness and sensitivity to the needs of internal and/or external customers. Proactively ensures these needs are met or exceeded. Takes or directs repeated and varied actions to overcome technical or people obstacles, rejection or failure. Sustains action over a long period, even in the face of adversity. Sees barriers as challenges or opportunities.

8. Customer Service: Puts the needs of the customer and team at the center of decision making. Consistently displays awareness and sensitivity to the needs of internal and/or external customers. Proactively ensures these needs are met or exceeded. Keeps customers regularly informed on progress of initiatives and actively solicits feedback from customers to ensure needs are being met. Anticipates customers’ needs and balances those needs with those of other customers and the enterprise. 

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, ITIL and Service Management standards as well as applicable professional standards.

9. This position has responsibility for selected information applications or systems. Work is performed in a fast paced multi-tasked environment where there may be conflicting priorities or tight deadlines. The incumbent has mid level decision-making authority for projects and applications and works at peer level across diverse areas and multiple states. The incumbent participates in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, planning sessions, implementation activities, and supports functions system wide.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and a current valid clinical license, certification, or credential in state of practice.

Must have two to four years experience in a healthcare environment or an equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and healthcare experience. Needs experience in small scale project planning and reporting either individual or team. Requires communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels. Successful candidate will have skills to mentor less experienced team members.

As is typical in this industry, variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required.

Estimated Pay Range:

$32.09 - $53.48 / hour Banner Health is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted compensation range is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay Banner Health in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. This range is based on possible base salaries and does not include the value of our total rewards package. Actual pay determined at offer will be based on years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location, along with a review of current employees in similar roles to ensure pay equity is achieved and maintained.
