Address:
GuatemalaThe Lending Product Manager is a strategic role responsible for defining the vision, roadmap, and value of the company’s lending products, while iteratively adapting to customer feedback and market changes. This role owns the performance of lending, measured by Net Revenue ROI across all customer segments (“buckets”), and leads the strategy of HOW we lend: ALG (automatic lending guidance) ranges, the CQI (Customer Qualification Index) model and its objective function, and the point-of-sale (POS) user interface for lending decisions. AI is foundational to this role: the Lending Product Manager partners with Data Science to deliver AI-driven lending models — including the CQI model and the Team Member Qualification Index (TQI) — and champions AI adoption across the lending function. This role triggers WHEN ALG ranges and CQI logic need to be re-evaluated and identifies WHERE behavioral issues are impacting lending results. This role involves close cross-functional collaboration with Data Science, business stakeholders (Earning Assets), POS development, field operations, and executive leadership to identify lending opportunities, validate them through controlled pilots, and operationalize lending improvements at scale.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the performance of lending, measured by Net Revenue ROI across all customer segments (buckets), drop rate, behavior by segment, share of loans within guidance, and the lending side of pricing-change tripwires (automated alerts linking pricing changes to lending outcomes).
- Lead the strategy of HOW we lend: ALG (automatic lending guidance) ranges, the CQI (Customer Qualification Index) model and its objective function, and the point-of-sale (POS) user interface for lending decisions.
- Trigger WHEN ALG ranges and CQI logic need to be re-evaluated based on portfolio performance.
- Identify WHERE behavioral issues are impacting lending results and drive corrective action with field operations.
- Define the vision, roadmap, and requirements for AI-driven lending products, translating model performance into business outcomes and championing AI adoption across the lending function.
- Partner with Data Science to redesign and improve the CQI pilot and testing methodology for the US, including pilot launch and monitoring.
- Partner with Data Science to redesign and improve the CQI pilot and testing methodology for Latam, including pilot launch and monitoring.
- Lead the review and optimization of current ALG ranges.
- Partner with Data Science to model the Team Member Qualification Index (TQI), defining requirements and the POS development dependencies needed to pilot it.
- Build lending experimentation and monitoring infrastructure with Data Science — pilot design, testing methodology, trigger logic, and performance tracking.
- Define POS UI requirements for lending decisions and work with product and POS development teams to deliver them.
- Collaborate with the Pricing Product Manager and Earning Assets on tripwires connecting pricing changes to lending outcomes.
- Effectively communicate lending performance, planned changes, and expected business impact to business and executive stakeholders.
- Collaborate with executives to guide data-driven lending decisions and AI adoption.
- Manage multiple priorities across a mix of ad hoc requests and projects.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of product management experience, including ownership of data-driven or AI-powered products.
- Proven experience partnering with data science teams to build and ship ML, AI, or Gen AI products end-to-end.
- Technically hands-on: working SQL and Python — able to self-serve analysis, query data directly, and validate model outputs.
- Demonstrated practical use of AI tools (Claude Code, Claude, or similar LLM tools) in daily work — AI fluency is critical to how this team operates.
- Experience in consumer lending, credit risk, underwriting, or decisioning models strongly preferred.
- Experience designing and running pilots and experiments (testing methodology, monitoring, causal measurement) to validate product changes.
- Pawn, fintech, or specialty finance industry experience a plus.
