Job Description:
The key objective of the ANZ Pricing team is to partner with the business (B2C & B2B) to sustainably improve both volume and margin for the long term. Key to this is;
Partnering with key stakeholders across Midstream, Retail, Fleet, Dealer and B2B business to deliver pricing solutions to support the business strategies and financial targets
Applying performance data and advanced analytics to inform both short- and long-term pricing strategies, coupled with insights from customer facing teams
Becoming a center of expertise on pricing models, theories, and strategies to deploy to improve value
The B2B Pricing Advisor is responsible for designing and implementing dealer and distributor pricing offers in Australia, to sustainably optimize fuel volume and margin and support Midstream’s strategic growth agenda to build scale via unbranded wholesale. This will require the successful candidate to apply data, insights, market knowledge and work with the dealer and distributor teams to deliver their roadmap objectives and returns. This role will also provide cover support for other B2B pricing team members across ANZ (Fleet, Dealer, Distributor and Bulk).
Key accountabilities:
Lead tender responses and contract renewals for all AU Dealer and Distributor businesses, including all “unbranded” growth opportunities, to deliver the Dealer plan and Distributor plan and grow integrated value and scale.
Understand all relevant cost elements and the impact to margin, including a thorough understanding of where we hold exposure and what mitigations could be implemented to manage this.
Review and suggest changes to pricing offers and strategies as required, working with both the B2B Pricing Manager and Sales teams
Utilise tactical pricing approaches to drive commercial value by applying advanced data tools and competitor insights.
Own and improve pricing contracts with drive for standardisation.
Build strong relationships with BPAS, Dealer Business Managers and Distributor Sales Leads to gain market insights and complete data analysis to inform business decisions.
Work with other ANZ B2B pricing members to both share knowledge and ideas and establish standard pricing execution, including deployment of advanced data analytics, streamlined processes, and pursuing alignments in ways of working across both countries.
Participation in global pricing forums & projects where required, take lessons from other markets, and apply in ANZ
Align with all laws & regulations and any regulatory requests
About you
Educational Background – Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
Professional Track Record – Over 5 years of experience in pricing, sales, supply, strategy or finance roles, with a proven ability to work collaboratively and deliver commercial outcomes.
Strong commercial acumen & decision making to implement value accretive initiatives
Great teammate, able to build working relationships across teams
Process oriented, with a strong drive for continuous improvement
Effective communication and influencing skills with all levels of the organisation and between technical and business users.
Demonstrated capability to draw insights and action from data
Demonstrated track record in line with BP’s values & behaviours.
History of strong performance, delivery beyond expectation and drive for results
Advanced analysis and excel skills, experience in use of PowerBI desirable
