Full-Time | No Nights, Weekends, or On-Call Requirements
Kidney Associates of Kansas City is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our growing healthcare team. This position works closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, patients, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers to support the delivery of high-quality care for patients with chronic kidney disease and other complex medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with patients, caregivers, physicians, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers by phone and electronic communication
- Coordinate and manage care for patients with renal disease and multiple chronic health conditions
- Independently assess patient concerns and emergent health issues, communicating findings promptly to the appropriate provider
- Provide patient education regarding disease processes, medications, treatment plans, and chronic disease management
- Reconcile patient medication lists and update records as needed
- Order laboratory tests as directed by physicians and nurse practitioners
- Review and reconcile laboratory results received through fax and EMR interfaces
- Perform in-office urine testing and prepare/send specimens to outside laboratories
- Accurately document patient encounters, communications, and clinical information within the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Process prescription refill requests and assist with prior authorization requirements
- Administer injections and other clinical treatments within the scope of LPN practice
- Coordinate care with hospitals, specialty providers, pharmacies, and other healthcare organizations
- Respond professionally and efficiently to patient and caller inquiries
- Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and clinic staff in daily operations to ensure efficient patient care and workflow
- Maintain compliance with practice policies, clinical protocols, and patient confidentiality standards
Required Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in KS, MO, or Multi-State
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused approach to care
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a physician office, outpatient clinic, or hospital setting
- Experience managing patients with chronic illnesses
- Knowledge of chronic kidney disease and renal care
- Experience administering injections and performing clinical procedures
- Desire to learn and grow within a specialized nephrology practice
Schedule
- Monday through Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- No nights
- No weekends
- No on-call responsibilities
