About the role 

As a Family Store Manager, this is your opportunity to lead the daily retail, administrative & recycling operations of the Family Store, supporting The Salvation Army's mission and values while delivering a positive community impact.

Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, full-time position, based in Stafford, QLD.

How you will make an impact 

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Family Store, ensuring a well-presented retail environment, excellent customer service and appropriate stock levels.
  • Drive store performance by identifying opportunities for growth, promotion and operational improvement, and contributing ideas to enhance outcomes.
  • Oversee stock control processes, including receiving, pricing, merchandising and disposal of stock in line with organisational standards.
  • Manage store finances, including cash handling, banking and supporting the overall financial performance of the store.
  • Lead, support and develop staff and volunteers, fostering a positive, productive and customer-focused team culture.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring compliance with safety, security, administrative and organisational requirements.

What you will bring 

  • Proven experience in retail management, ideally 5+ years.
  • Demonstrated people management skills with an emphasis on volunteers and the community.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with a positive, team-focused approach.
  • Current valid driver’s licence.
  • Current first aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
  • A national police record check is required.
