Associate Director, Greek Life

The Opportunity:

The Associate Director of Greek Life serves as a senior leader responsible for providing strategic oversight, organizational leadership, and change management expertise to support a complex and evolving fraternity and sorority community. This position exists to advance institutional priorities related to student well-being, organizational accountability, leadership development, and community culture while ensuring the long-term effectiveness and sustainability of fraternity and sorority life initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Provides strategic oversight and guidance to fraternity and sorority chapters, governing councils, and student leaders to promote organizational effectiveness, leadership development, accountability, and member success.

• Directly advises assigned organizations and oversees the advisement of one or more governing council(s), utilizing coaching, consultation, and developmental interventions to strengthen chapter operations, leadership transitions, decision-making, and alignment with university values and expectations.

• Leads efforts to promote organizational accountability and responsible community standards by collaborating with Student Conduct and Academic Integrity and other university partners to address chapter misconduct, behavioral concerns, and organizational risk.

• Provides direct supervision, leadership, and professional development for coordinator(s) and graduate assistant(s).

• Cultivates and maintains collaborative relationships with campus partners, alumni volunteers, chapter advisors, housing corporations, inter/national organization representatives, parents and families, and community stakeholders.

• Contributes to departmental assessment efforts, strategic initiatives, divisional projects, university committees, staff development programs, and professional engagement activities.

• Functions on behalf of the Director as needed and provides leadership for day-to-day office operations, decision-making, issue resolution, and continuity of services.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's and 6+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 4+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ year(s) of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6). 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree.

• Significant professional experience leading, advising, or supporting fraternity and sorority communities within higher education, including engagement with national or international headquarters, governing councils, and professional organizations such as NASPA, AFLV, AFA, or related associations.

• Demonstrated expertise in risk management, organizational accountability, crisis response, and student safety initiatives, including the development and implementation of prevention, intervention, and response protocols for complex student organization environments.

• Proven experience providing strategic leadership and oversight of large-scale events, conferences, leadership retreats, and community-wide initiatives, including planning, execution, assessment, and stakeholder collaboration.

• Advanced knowledge of fraternity and sorority life best practices, community development, leadership education, student conduct processes, hazing prevention, and organizational governance.

• Experience designing, implementing, and assessing comprehensive educational curricula focused on leadership development, risk management, civic engagement, personal accountability, and student success.

• Demonstrated expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles, including the creation of engaging workshops, training programs, leadership institutes, online learning modules, and educational resources.

• Strong presentation and facilitation skills with experience delivering training and educational programming to student leaders, governing boards, alumni advisors, national organization representatives, faculty, staff, and campus stakeholders.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

• Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.

• The anticipated salary range for this position is $56,030 - $81,243. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
