Senior Mechanical Project Manager (Special Projects)

We are representing an established commercial and industrial mechanical contractor seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead its special projects division. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can manage projects from initial estimating and budgeting through execution, closeout, and final delivery.

The company specializes in complex mechanical, HVAC, and piping projects across healthcare, laboratories, data centers, schools, and industrial facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Estimate, price, and develop proposals for mechanical construction and special projects.

• Manage projects from preconstruction through completion, including budgeting, scheduling, purchasing, and subcontractor coordination.

• Oversee project costs, profitability, labor, materials, and overall execution.

• Review drawings, specifications, and scope requirements to identify project needs and potential issues.

• Coordinate with customers, general contractors, vendors, field personnel, and internal teams.

• Identify value engineering opportunities and develop cost-effective project solutions.

• Manage change orders, project documentation, billing, and closeout.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in commercial or industrial mechanical construction.

• Strong background in both mechanical estimating and project management.

• Experience with HVAC, mechanical piping, process piping, boilers, chillers, or related systems.

• Ability to independently estimate projects and manage them through completion.

• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, budgets, and project scheduling.

• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
