Hybrid

We believe that through collaboration and connection with our colleagues we can achieve great things. Our hybrid working approach allows our people to work both in the office and at home, providing the flexibility and resources you need to succeed in your role. We don't require you to be in on specific days; instead, we ask people to come into the office 2-3 days each week, for at least 8 days per month. You should work with your line manager to understand what their expectations are for you, your specific role and your team.

##

Who We Are

We’re here to build a network the UK can count on – one that connects people, places and potential. Because no matter where you live, what your background is, or how you get online – we think everyone deserves the same chance to stay connected, and with VodafoneThree, that future’s being built – today.

We’re creating more than the UK’s best network. We’re helping close the digital divide, empower communities and drive meaningful progress.

We believe that everyone should feel they belong. Whoever you are and whatever your story, there’s space for you here. We’re building a workplace where different perspectives are welcomed, voices are heard, and everyone feels safe to show up as themselves.

You’ll join a team that genuinely cares – about each other, about our customers, and about the future we’re building. From day one, you’ll be welcomed, valued and encouraged to bring your whole self to work.

Why VodafoneThree

Join us and you’ll be at the heart of change. That means building responsibly, investing sustainably and creating opportunities that last.

We’re not just expanding connectivity; we’re reimagining what a connected nation looks like. With £11bn invested in 5G and digital infrastructure, your work will directly power businesses, services, and communities across the country.

You’ll work on real challenges, with real impact, across every corner of the country. Wherever you join us, whatever your role, you’ll be helping to build a future that works better for everyone.

We move at pace, because what we’re building matters – and we’re learning as we go. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, but we’re just getting started.

Join us at the heart of our business in Corporate, one of the central support functions that underpin our business and keep us moving forward. We provide centralised support, expertise and guidance across our UK and Group operations, continuing to build on our success and trailblazing the way to our next stage of digital growth.

##

What you’ll do

You’ll join at a defining moment as we bring together our collective strengths to build the UK’s biggest mobile network provider. In this high-impact VAT role, you’ll help shape how indirect tax thinking will influence new propositions, strategic projects and commercial decisions. You’ll work closely with teams across the business, combining your technical expertise with commercial judgement to find practical, tax-efficient solutions. As we build a new organisation, culture and legacy together, you’ll have the opportunity to make a visible contribution to how our VAT governance and ways of working will evolve. This is 12-month secondment opportunity.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead on VAT technical analysis and advisory support for strategic projects, commercial initiatives and new propositions, helping the business make informed and tax-efficient decisions.
  • Review commercial agreements, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), supplier agreements and customer contracts, identifying VAT implications and helping manage potential risks.
  • Partner with Product, Sales, Commercial and Marketing teams to assess VAT considerations for new products, digital services, bundled offerings and propositions before they launch.
  • Provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice, translating complex VAT requirements into practical solutions that balance compliance, customer outcomes and business objectives.
  • Monitor developments in indirect tax legislation, case law and HMRC practice, considering how changes could affect existing business models and future strategic initiatives.
  • Strengthen VAT governance by embedding effective tax reviews, processes and controls into key projects and decision-making frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement, working collaboratively with stakeholders to improve consistency, efficiency and proactive VAT risk management.
  • Act as a trusted business partner, building strong relationships while confidently and constructively challenging decisions when additional consideration of VAT risk is needed.

##

Who you are

  • Demonstrable indirect tax experience gained within a complex commercial organisation, professional practice environment, or a combination of both.
  • Can showcase deep knowledge of VAT principles, legislation, practical application and risk management, with the confidence to assess their impact in real-world commercial situations.
  • Be comfortable turning complex technical requirements into clear, practical and accessible guidance that colleagues from different professional backgrounds can act on.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, bringing an open and collaborative approach while being comfortable influencing and constructively challenging at different levels.
  • Combine strong analytical thinking and attention to detail with the ability to see the broader commercial picture and support positive customer and business outcomes.
  • Be organised, adaptable and delivery-focused, managing competing priorities and deadlines effectively in a fast-moving environment.
  • Showcase a strong commercial awareness and a thoughtful approach to balancing technical compliance, effective risk management and business needs.
  • You’ll be motivated by the opportunity to work collaboratively in a changing organisation, contributing your expertise while remaining curious, supportive and open to new ideas.
