The incumbent supports the Defense Stockpile Management Systems (DSMS) portfolio, including the Defense Integration and Management of Nuclear Data Services (DIAMONDS), Joint Application Design Environment (JADE), Nuclear Inventory Management and Cataloging System (NIMACS), Government Acceptance Testing (GAT), and DIAMONDS Accountability Training System (DATS). The Senior RHEL Administrator ensures these environments remain secure, available, compliant, recoverable, and capable of supporting high-priority operational requirements.

  • Collaborate with Government stakeholders, program leadership, cybersecurity personnel, and technical operations teams to analyze, design, configure, test, integrate, sustain, and modernize RHEL systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce scalable RHEL configuration-management practices, baseline configurations, automation, system hardening standards, and operational procedures.
  • Conduct platform needs assessments, gap analyses, architecture reviews, and capacity evaluations; develop and implement technically sound solutions to improve availability, performance, resiliency, and maintainability.
  • Deploy, configure, patch, upgrade, and sustain RHEL operating systems, applications, security tools, configuration-management services, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex RHEL platform, application, network, storage, authentication, automation, and performance issues; lead root-cause analysis and document corrective actions.
  • Implement, manage, validate, and audit DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), vulnerability remediation actions, mitigation strategies, Plan of Action and Milestones inputs, and cybersecurity compliance evidence.
  • Support enterprise patching, vulnerability management, system monitoring, audit logging, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and continuity-of-operations requirements for RHEL platforms.
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact for RHEL platform support affecting mission applications and services, coordinating resolution with Application, Database, Network, Enterprise, Cybersecurity, Virtualization, and Field Support teams.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, implementation plans, recovery procedures, automation scripts, and configuration records.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance for junior administrators; guide implementation decisions and promote consistent, secure, and supportable RHEL operations across the enterprise.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
