We are now looking for an Architect, IT Hybrid Networks to join our team at Infrastructure and Site Services. This position is located in Helsinki or Tampere, Finland.

What you will do

• Own the architecture, technology roadmap, and lifecycle management of enterprise firewall platforms, Operational Technology networks, and partner connectivity solutions
• Create and maintain architecture documentation and standards for your responsibility area while complying with cybersecurity requirements, enterprise architecture principles, and industry best practices
• Lead the development and continuous improvement of OT networking solutions in close collaboration with automation teams, production system vendors, and site organizations
• Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership for network-related projects and business initiatives
• Drive the lifecycle management, modernization, and standardization of LAN and Wi-Fi network solutions across UPM locations
• Assess new technologies and develop architecture standards, designs, and implementation guidelines
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and managed service providers to ensure high-quality solution delivery and operational excellence

Who you are

• You are a proactive and self-driven networking professional with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• You combine deep technical expertise with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to work effectively with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and service providers
• You have extensive experience in enterprise networking and network security, including firewall technologies, LAN/Wi-Fi environments, and OT network architectures
• You are comfortable operating in complex global environments and have a proven track record of designing sustainable, scalable, and secure solutions that deliver long-term business value
• You appreciate the importance of standards, governance, and high-quality documentation and actively contribute to their continuous improvement
• You are also able to balance strategic thinking with deep technical knowledge and have a clear vision of how networking technologies and architectures will evolve in the coming years
• You have professional proficiency in both Finnish and English
