A Brief Overview
The Psychologist provides psychological assessment and intervention services to children, adolescents, and families within the Behavior Regulation Disorders Section of the Outpatient Division of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DCAPBS). Clinical responsibilities focus on the evaluation and treatment of youth ages 6-18 with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and commonly co-occurring behavioral, emotional, and developmental concerns. The psychologist will provide evidence-based individual, family, and group interventions and will dedicate at least one day per week to delivering Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) with young children and their caregivers.

In addition to direct clinical care, the psychologist develops and nurtures clinical services, participates in and leads training activities within DCAPBS and the Hospital, and contributes to Department and Hospital committees and initiatives. They may contribute actively to program development and quality improvement activities, serve as an educator, role model, and mentor, and participate in local, regional, and national professional activities. They may engage in clinical research as appropriate for their role. In some settings, the psychologist may have a matrixed reporting relationship to a physician leader outside the Department.
