Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support Faculty staff to create, implement and evaluate innovative and secure assessment strategies that enhance student learning outcomes, align with curriculum goals and industry standards, and prepare students for an AI-integrated workplace.
  • Develop assessment strategies informed by Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and programmatic approaches, and advise on the design, development, implementation and evaluation of resources supporting assessment feedback, security and integrity across courses and degree programs.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Lead, Assessment Transformation, Faculty Principal Learning Designers, senior stakeholders and subject matter experts to advance pedagogical outcomes, respond to University assessment transformation priorities, support the responsible use of AI and meet reporting requirements used to measure assessment transformation.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging assessment technologies and lead learning and educational design activities and projects, including defining scope and objectives, coordinating resources and sharing contemporary practice through Faculty and University communities of practice.

About You

  • A relevant degree and at least four (4) years of subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training in designing learning and developing resources that support students’ learning and assessment experiences.
  • Demonstrated understanding of educational technologies and contemporary pedagogical practices that support student achievement, engagement and assessment security, particularly in the context of AI.
  • Strong analytical skills, including demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret detailed and complex information, identify issues and solve problems relating to assessment security and integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply pedagogical theory, contemporary practice and practical experience to complex teaching and learning situations, using high-level problem-solving skills to develop innovative face-to-face and online learning and assessment solutions.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop inclusive assessment approaches informed by Universal Design for Learning principles and the needs of students across degree programs.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with diverse academic, professional and senior stakeholders and a demonstrated commitment to responding to client needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work iteratively, adapt quickly to change and operate effectively both autonomously and as a member of a collaborative, client-focused team.
  • Demonstrated capability to plan and lead learning and educational design activities and projects, balance priorities, coordinate resources and translate strategic objectives into practical outcomes.
