- Install aircraft structural hardware, including solid rivets, blind rivets, Hi-Loks, Hi-Lites, Jo-Bolts, and other specialized fasteners.
- Perform precision sheet-metal fitting, alignment, riveting, and assembly of aircraft structural components.
- Operate pneumatic and electric tools, including rivet guns, drill motors, angle drills, torque wrenches, and specialized assembly equipment.
- Use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, grip gauges, and go/no-go gauges.
- Interpret complex aircraft blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
- Perform structural sealing, surface preparation, and corrosion-protection processes as required.
- Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy, fastener installation quality, and compliance with applicable specifications.
- Identify and communicate manufacturing discrepancies and quality concerns.
- Maintain strict adherence to aerospace quality standards, safety procedures, and foreign object debris (FOD) prevention requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on aircraft structural assembly or aircraft sheet-metal experience.
- Demonstrated experience performing precision structural assembly in an aerospace manufacturing or aircraft production environment.
- Advanced proficiency in close-tolerance drilling, reaming, countersinking, and structural fastener installation.
- Extensive hands-on experience with solid riveting, pneumatic riveting equipment, and aircraft structural hardware.
- Ability to independently read and interpret complex aircraft engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
- Strong working knowledge of aircraft sheet-metal fabrication, structural fitting, and assembly techniques.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and aerospace tooling.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work within demanding dimensional and manufacturing tolerances.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to successfully complete all required technical assessments and qualification requirements.
- Willingness and ability to complete a hands-on plate test in Mobile, Alabama, before assignment.
