Hospital Coordinator - After Hours (Casual)

Join us as a Hospital Coordinator (After Hours) and play a critical role in leading hospital operations when it matters most. You will oversee patient flow, workforce coordination, emergency management, and operational decision-making to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care across the hospital. Working collaboratively with Nurse Managers and multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure staffing resources are effectively managed, and patient care needs are met in a dynamic after-hours environment.

About the role

• Provide operational and clinical leadership across the hospital after hours, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

• Support Nurse Managers and clinical teams to maintain consistent standards of care and exceptional patient outcomes.

• Coordinate workforce resources, including staffing allocation, redeployment, agency utilisation, and workforce planning to meet service demands.

• Oversee patient flow, bed management, admissions, and transfers to optimise capacity and operational efficiency.

• Act as a senior clinical resource and role model, providing guidance and support to multidisciplinary teams.

• Collaborate with executive leaders, medical practitioners, and key stakeholders to address complex clinical and operational matters.

• Lead emergency responses and manage hospital-wide incidents in accordance with organisational protocols.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to committees, projects, and service development activities.

• Assume senior management responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Nursing and Chief Executive Officer as required.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the seamless delivery of clinical

and operational services after hours.

You are a confident and experienced nursing leader with current NMBA registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife. You bring advanced clinical expertise, strong leadership capability, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care. With experience in a senior nursing role within a healthcare setting, you have demonstrated success in workforce and resource management, fostering collaborative multidisciplinary relationships, and supporting high-performing teams.

You are passionate about continuous improvement, clinical governance, accreditation standards, and driving positive outcomes for patients, staff, and the organisation.

About the new Midland Private Hospital 

• A brand-new purpose-built state-of-the-art facility, currently under construction, located just 300 metres from the St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals Campus. 

• A comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, with interventional cardiology being offered for the first time in the region

​The hospital will feature:

• 96 overnight inpatient beds, including a six-bed critical care/high dependency unit

• 33 bed/chair short stay and day procedure unit

• Eight operating theatres

• A cardiac/vascular catheter laboratory

We can offer you

• Salary: $86.57 per hour, including casual loading plus 12% superannuation
