About the opportunity
The Executive Director, Digital Engagement is part of the ICT Leadership Team which is responsible for the development of the University’s ICT strategy, plans and roadmaps. The Executive Director, Digital Engagement is responsible for overseeing ICT partnerships with the broader University and driving a focus on client-centricity.
As a member of the ICT Leadership Team, this role will provide apply extensive management and professional expertise, skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to the development of the ICT Strategy, ensuring alignment with the University’s objectives and needs. As an Executive Director, this role is required make high-level strategic and operational decisions, understanding related implications, risks and opportunities. The role will provide strategic leadership, direction and oversight to the Digital Engagement function and collaborate closely and frequently with senior leadership across the ICT department as well as key University stakeholders
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Lead the ICT partnering function to engage, advise and support senior stakeholders, the Portfolio Service Units (PSUs) and Faculties across the University in the development of their digital strategies.
Ensure the client technology strategy aligns with current and future digital technologies that underpin the ICT digital roadmap.
Lead the development and implementation of the Digital Engagement strategy and plan(s), ensuring alignment with the broader ICT strategy / plan(s), including budget and resource allocation strategies and plans.
Develop, submit and implement annual operational and capital budgets, manage expenditure effectively within budget
Ensure the development and delivery of reports on progress and any challenges encountered.
Lead and mentor a team of Engagement staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Lead initiatives that promote a culture of continuous improvement across ICT.
About you (skills, capabilities and experience)
Minimum of 10 years of ICT and/or business leadership experience and 5+ years of management experience within a Client Engagement-related team / function
Extensive management experience in an ICT function within the University or Education sector or a complex ICT environment.
Significant experience in managing large and complex budgets and resource pools.
Knowledge of tertiary sector issues, challenges and dynamics and their application to the ICT function
Extensive experience with program and portfolio management
Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in high-pressure situations.
Extensive experience leading strategic planning and technology roadmap development in alignment with broader organisational strategy.

Term and remuneration
This is a full-time, fixed term opportunity for 5 years. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
