Description
THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Director, Growth & Commercial Intelligence to join Bomber, a growing performance activewear brand with operations across Canada and the United States. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director will connect customer acquisition, ecommerce performance and commercial data to profitable growth decisions.
The Director will provide the CEO and executive team with a clearer view of customer behaviour, revenue performance and the effectiveness of major commercial investments. Working closely with Bomber’s Creative, Finance, Operations and Sales teams, the Director will translate performance data into practical business decisions.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of the growth function for one brand, with the authority to build the functionality of Bomber’s advertising platforms, manage a meaningful paid media budget and influence product, ecommerce and broader commercial strategy. The role will be supported through Bomber’s Edmonton service hub, with office, remote or hybrid work flexibility.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is an accomplished performance marketer with strong technical expertise and hands-on experience managing significant paid media budgets, potentially across multiple clients or accounts. This individual is ready to take the next step into a leadership role with greater ownership, accountability and direct influence over growth and commercial decisions.
The successful candidate is analytical without becoming academic, commercially disciplined without being afraid to experiment, and hands-on enough to inspect the accounts and data directly. This individual is comfortable challenging assumptions, stopping spend when the economics do not work, and increasing investment when the evidence supports it. They enjoy working with strong creative people and understand that successful growth combines creative instinct, customer understanding and rigorous measurement.
THE ORGANIZATION
Bomber is an innovation-led activewear brand creating performance-first apparel and accessories for athletes who move with purpose. Built on proprietary fabric innovation, precision fit and modern design, Bomber is engineered to perform seamlessly on and off the field.
Bomber continues to build its brand through high-profile partnerships and exposure within professional sports.
Mission
To redefine ‘Bomber’ as a universal adjective to describe and represent those who embrace risk, welcome adversity, are indifferent to accolades, and demonstrate laudable resilience to achieve their goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The immediate priority is to strengthen performance marketing by improving paid-media results, establishing reliable customer-acquisition economics, strengthening measurement and attribution, improving ecommerce conversion, and building a disciplined testing framework that tells us what is working and where to invest next.
- Operate directly inside Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads and analytics platforms rather than managing exclusively through outside agencies.
- Audit existing campaigns, attribution and measurement systems and establish a reliable performance baseline.
- Build campaign scaling, reduction and stop-loss rules tied to customer-acquisition and contribution economics.
- Identify ecommerce conversion leaks and coordinate the highest-value fixes with developers, CRO specialists and internal teams.
- Analyze customer acquisition and purchase behaviour to identify opportunities to improve marketing efficiency, retention and commercial performance.
- Evaluate product and SKU performance through the lens of conversion, acquisition efficiency, repeat purchase, returns and contribution economics as reliable data becomes available.
- Support the CEO's sales function with practical measurement of lead sources, pipeline conversion and account value as wholesale, corporate and other B2B channels develop.
- Design controlled tests across creative, offers, landing pages, audiences, campaign structures and ecommerce experiences.
- Separate meaningful incremental growth from platform attribution and vanity metrics.
- Recommend monthly and annual paid-media budgets based on demonstrated performance and financial economics.
- Build concise reporting that allows management to compare competing uses of commercial investment without assuming operational ownership of Sales, Product, Finance or Creative.
- Paid acquisition strategy and performance across Meta and Google, with expansion into additional channels when justified by results.
- New-customer CAC, MER, ROAS, AOV, conversion rate, repeat purchase behaviour and LTV reporting.
- Development of allowable CAC, break-even acquisition thresholds and channel economics in partnership with Finance.
- Performance management of paid-media, CRO and analytics agencies or specialist partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in performance marketing, growth, paid acquisition or ecommerce.
- Demonstrated experience personally managing significant Meta advertising budgets, preferably with annual paid media spend in the multimillion-dollar range.
- Strong working knowledge of Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads.
- Strong command of CAC, MER, ROAS, contribution margin, LTV and conversion economics.
- Working knowledge of GA4, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel and Conversions API.
- Experience identifying ecommerce funnel and conversion problems and coordinating solutions.
- Experience developing and evaluating creative tests using commercial performance data.
- Strong analytical ability and comfort working with customer, revenue and channel-performance data.
- Ability to work effectively with creative, finance, ecommerce, sales and executive teams.
- Experience holding agencies and vendors accountable to measurable scopes, KPIs and business outcomes.
- Ability to explain performance clearly and make commercially grounded recommendations without relying on marketing jargon.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment where the successful candidate will both build the function and operate it.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in apparel, athletic apparel, fitness, fashion or another premium DTC consumer category.
- Experience scaling an early-stage ecommerce business.
- Shopify and/or BigCommerce experience.
- Klaviyo, email and SMS lifecycle-marketing experience.
- Experience operating ecommerce businesses across both the United States and Canada.
- Familiarity with customer cohort analysis, BI/reporting tools or SQL.
- Experience supporting sales-funnel, channel or product-performance analysis.
- Experience partnering with Finance on contribution-margin analysis and marketing-budget planning.
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Connects acquisition, revenue and contribution data to disciplined investment decisions.
- Works directly in advertising and analytics platforms while building the broader growth function.
- Tests assumptions, distinguishes incremental growth from attribution and focuses on commercially meaningful measures.
- Designs controlled tests, evaluates results and adjusts investment based on evidence.
- Explains performance clearly and provides commercially grounded recommendations without relying on marketing jargon.
- Sets measurable expectations for internal work, agencies and vendors, then follows through on outcomes.
