Job Title: Cloud API & Mobile Test Automation Engineer (Automotive)
Location: Palo alto, CA.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud API & Mobile Test Automation Engineer to join our Automotive Connected Services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks for mobile applications and cloud-based services. This role involves validating cloud APIs, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the quality and reliability of connected vehicle ecosystems across multiple testing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks for iOS and Android applications.
- Perform comprehensive cloud API testing, including functional, integration, regression, and performance validation.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and rapid software delivery.
- Execute testing across multiple environments, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups, test benches, and full vehicle validation environments.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve cross-platform data flow and connectivity issues involving mobile applications, cloud services, and vehicle systems.
- Collaborate with software developers, cloud engineers, and product teams to ensure end-to-end quality of connected services.
- Develop and implement test strategies, test plans, and quality assurance best practices.
- Analyze test results, generate reports, and drive continuous improvements in test coverage and automation efficiency.
- Support release validation activities and ensure compliance with automotive quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in mobile test automation for Android and iOS platforms.
- Strong understanding of API testing using tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI, or similar.
- Proficiency in automation scripting using languages such as Java, Python, or Kotlin.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and connected services architectures.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Automotive domain, particularly connected vehicle services.
- Familiarity with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing environments.
- Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols and telematics systems.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Zephyr, or TestRail.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
