Project Info
ACCIONA, as part of the ActivUs alliance, is delivering the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project, a $5.75 billion program to boost train frequency between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The project includes level crossing removals, rail system upgrades and road works, supporting the region ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Games.
About Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Safety Advisor, you'll help embed a strong safety culture across the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project. You'll carry out risk assessments across site and office areas, update prevention plans to reflect project-specific hazards, and monitor compliance with WHS regulations. You'll support incident investigations, contribute to corrective actions from audits, and work closely with project teams, subcontractors and site leadership to keep safety front and centre.
Key accountabilities for the position will be:
- Conduct risk assessments across offices, depots and site areas
- Update prevention plans to reflect project-specific hazards
- Monitor compliance with WHS regulations across operations
- Investigate incidents and identify root causes
- Roll out corporate safety protocols across the project
- Support corrective actions from audits and reviews
- Run site safety inspections and verify control measures
Required Skills and Competencies
What capability & experience will you need to have:
- Degree in Engineering, Nursing, Medicine, Law or Psychology
- Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Risk Prevention (desirable)
- Experience in a similar safety or WHS role - minimum 3 years
- Strong English communication skills and Office Suite proficiency
- Working knowledge of WHS legislation and audit procedures
