Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Counselor or Psychologist with the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) department - Boca Raton, FL


This position plays a vital role in providing individual, relational, and/or group counseling to FAU students, regarding a wide range of personal concerns and clinical diagnoses.


Summary of Responsibilities:


  • Provide evidence-based individual, relationship, and group counseling to a diverse student population.
  • Conduct intake evaluations, clinical assessments, and risk assessments to determine appropriate treatment recommendations.
  • Develop treatment plans and provide short-term psychotherapy consistent with the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) service model.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
  • Adhere to all statutory and ethical requirements governing confidentiality and professional practice within the scope of the applicable licensure.
  • Comply with FAU Personnel Policies and the CAPS Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Participate in case consultation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and other departmental activities as assigned.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director to meet departmental and university needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be licensed as a mental health counselor, clinical social worker, or psychologist in the State of Florida.

Salary:

$35.00 - $45.00 per hour.

Temporary positions are not established positions and are paid from OPS funds. Temporary positions are usually not eligible for benefits and retirement; however, they may be eligible for health insurance coverage depending on the average hours worked per week. They provide full-time or part-time employment in an exempt or non-exempt employment situation based on job duties and salary in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Temporary positions do not have layoff rights and may be terminated without prior notice.
