This hourly position is responsible for maintaining excellent snow trail surfaces for the Frisco Adventure Park including; Tubing hill, Terrain Park. Beginner ski area and snow surface walkways. This role includes the daily operation of heavy equipment such as a snowcat, snowmobile, UTV, and hand tools. The Night Snowcat Operator maintains winter snow surfaces at the Frisco Adventure Park and works with maintenance and snowmaking staff to ensure exceptional snow conditions for ski area users along with tubing guests. This role is additionally responsible for communicating daily trail conditions to Adventure Park staff.

This schedule will be four (4), ten (10) hour shifts. Overnight, weekends/weekdays, holidays are required.

Essential Functions
  • Operates snowcat to maintain snow surface during the evening and early morning hours.
  • Monitors and maintains snow surface to the highest level possible to ensure safe and consistent Tubing, Terrain Park, and Ski trail products.
  • Follows industry safety practices regarding use of technical equipment. This includes, but not limited to, trucks, UTV’s, snowcats, snowmobiles, and related grooming implements.
  • Inspects Frisco Adventure Park snow surfaces and surrounding areas for possible hazards and takes steps to rectify any hazards and communicate these in a timely manner to management.
  • Reports unsafe issues or machinery to management in a timely manner. Takes appropriate steps to rectify issue.
  • Provides basic preventative maintenance; check out, cleanliness and up-keep of all operational machinery.
  • Cleans, repairs and services equipment as specified by manufacturer and management.
  • Conducts daily, monthly, preseason, and other established equipment and terrain inspection. Completes logs as appropriate.
  • Utilizes on-trail communication equipment and processes to ensure appropriate safety response.
  • Assists maintenance and snowmaking staff with pre and post ski season trail set up.
  • Responsible for snow movement and winter trail building. Including but not limited pushing out snow trails and working with snowmaking staff to prep winter ski surfaces.
  • Adheres to all Town of Frisco and Recreation Department policies and procedures, including but not limited to; safety and maintaining personal grooming / uniform standards.
  • Work collaboratively with Public Works and the Recreation Service Technician on equipment and facility repair, maintenance, labor, record keeping, and part inventory as appropriate.
  • Communicates as appropriate with other staff, supervisors and management about concerns and offers assistance when needed in a timely manner.
  • Works in a team-based environment supporting the Frisco Adventure Park, Recreation Department, the Town of Frisco, and the initiatives of the Adventure Park Management Team.
