Granite City Processing (formerly Heidtman Steel) is growing, and we’re looking for experienced steel processing professionals to join our 3rd shift team.

Competitive Pay + Incentives

Slitter Operator Starting Wage: $23.77/hr + bonuses and shift premium

Slitter Crew Starting Wage: $21.54/hr + bonuses and shift premium

• Monthly Production Incentive Bonus: 2025 average was 15.13% (Based on $23.77 per hour, that is an additional $3.59!)
• 3rd Shift Premium: +$1.00/hr
• Opportunities to increase your earnings through experience, performance, and production incentives

We’re Looking for People Who Know Slitting

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with:

• Slitter line operation
• Slitter setups and changeovers
• Steel processing
• Coil handling and material movement
• Operating overhead cranes
• Forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Reading production specifications and following quality requirements
• Working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced steel processing environment

Job Type: Full-time

Requirements

You should be computer-literate to maintain the associated production documents. Experience driving a forklift, overhead crane, material handler, and steel handler experience is desired. This is a physically demanding job which requires standing, bending, twisting, stooping, and the ability to move up to 50 lbs.

Prior experience in machine operation and/or steel manufacturing experience is preferred for Slitter Opportunities
