Opportunity

Are you curious, driven by impact, and excited by the idea of shaping how a global logistics leader manages its assets in the AI era?

We are looking for a Category Specialist to join our Material Handling Equipment (MHE) category team at a pivotal moment: Maersk is building an AI-powered asset platform (AssetIQ) that is transforming how we plan, source, and manage assets across their full lifecycle.

In this role, you will bring your live, real-world category and supplier experience directly into that transformation — partnering closely with the product team behind our new AI-guided workflows to solve real category problems without delay, so our processes develop, scale, and deliver Procurement and Asset Management Excellence from day one.

Alongside this, you will support and drive core category work — sourcing, supplier performance, and asset lifecycle optimization for our global MHE fleet — translating data and insight into decisions that create measurable value across our operations.

What We Offer

At Maersk, you will join a global team responsible for a strategically important category with significant spend and business impact — and you will do so at a moment when the category itself is being reinvented. You will work hand-in-hand with our inhouse platform development team as their category partner, helping shape live, AI-guided processes rather than inheriting a finished system. Alongside this, you will gain exposure to global stakeholders, supplier negotiations, category strategy development, and operational improvement initiatives, building deep expertise in logistics, material handling equipment, and AI-enabled asset management.

Category Management & Procurement

  • Support and drive execution of category strategies for Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
  • Coordinate sourcing activities including RFQs, tenders, negotiations, and contracting.
  • Collaborate with regional procurement teams to consolidate demand and maximize value creation.
  • Support supplier relationship management and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to commercial discussions and negotiations with key suppliers.

Data, AI & Business Excellence

  • Analyze spend, supplier, contract, and asset data — using our AI-powered asset platform — to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Surface and personally resolve real category and supplier challenges from sourcing and asset management, turning your hands-on expertise into streamlined data enabled workflows.
  • Take new AI-guided processes from concept to category-wide standard: co-creating workflows with the digital team, pressure-testing them in live sourcing situations, and scaling what works.
  • Support and drive reporting, category performance tracking, and business case development.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Experience within logistics, procurement, category management, supply chain, warehousing operations, or a related field.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively across business and supplier teams.
  • Applied analytical skills and the ability to translate data into business insights.
  • Commercial mindset with an understanding of supplier management and negotiations.
  • Genuinely passionate about how AI and digital platforms can transform established ways of working.
  • Curious, proactive, and motivated to drive improvements and challenge the status quo.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience within logistics, warehousing, or handling equipment environments.
  • Exposure to sourcing, category management, supplier relationship management, or procurement analytics.
  • Familiarity with Agentic AI Platforms, procurement systems, reporting tools, or data analysis platforms.

Success in This Role

You will thrive in this role if you are intrinsically motivated by impact — energized by combining procurement, stakeholder engagement, analytics, and problem-solving to create meaningful business value, and genuinely curious about how AI can reshape the way we work. You are comfortable working across functions, building strong supplier and stakeholder relationships, and partnering with our AssetIQ team to turn real category challenges into scalable digital solutions — helping to lift Procurement and Asset Management Excellence at Maersk to the next level.

Join us and help shape how we source, manage, and optimize assets at Maersk — where category expertise meets AI-driven transformation.
