Manager, Client Financial Services

Centerstone | Kirksville, MO | Full-Time

Lead Revenue Cycle Operations That Support Access to Care

Centerstone is seeking a Manager, Client Financial Services (CFS) to oversee critical revenue cycle operations that support our mission of delivering high-quality behavioral health care. This leadership role is responsible for managing Accounts Receivable, Billing, Cash Posting, Client Customer Service, and Denial Management functions while driving operational excellence, staff development, and financial performance.

The Manager, Client Financial Services partners closely with Revenue Cycle leadership to improve processes, enhance productivity, ensure compliance, and support the financial health of the organization.

What You'll Do

Operational Leadership

  • Provide daily leadership and oversight of Client Financial Services operations, including billing, collections, cash posting, accounts receivable, denial management, and client customer service.
  • Coordinate workflows and monitor team performance to ensure quality, accuracy, productivity, and compliance standards are met.
  • Ensure timely and accurate claim submission and reimbursement processes.
  • Oversee insurance follow-up activities and resolution of denied claims.
  • Monitor department metrics, identify trends, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and financial outcomes.
  • Analyze system reports and financial data to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, coach, and develop Client Financial Services staff through ongoing performance management, training, and professional development.
  • Conduct quality audits and evaluate individual and departmental performance metrics.
  • Lead onboarding and training efforts for new team members and support cross-training opportunities across revenue cycle functions.
  • Complete performance evaluations and provide timely feedback, coaching, and corrective action when needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely timekeeping and scheduling processes for department staff.

Customer Service & Collaboration

  • Foster a culture of exceptional customer service and professionalism when interacting with clients, staff, vendors, and insurance payers.
  • Monitor client communications to ensure concerns are addressed accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle leadership and cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals and improve service delivery.
  • Communicate organizational updates, strategic initiatives, and departmental objectives effectively to staff.

Compliance & Financial Stewardship

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, payer requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Oversee reconciliation activities, cash posting processes, and accounts receivable monitoring to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial, client, and organizational information.
  • Support organizational initiatives that strengthen revenue cycle performance and financial sustainability.

What We're Looking For

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle operations, including billing, collections, accounts receivable, cash posting, and denial management.
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience coaching, motivating, and developing teams.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, revenue cycle software, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Billing and/or Coding certification preferred.

Experience

  • Two (2) or more years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in healthcare billing, collections, accounts receivable, payment processing, denial management, or related revenue cycle functions preferred.
  • Experience working within a healthcare, behavioral health, hospital, or medical billing environment preferred.

Employment Requirements

  • Successful completion of all required background screenings, including criminal, abuse/neglect, fingerprint, and driving record checks.
