JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Work Shift: Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm
Summary of the Job:
This position is an integral part of the team that is involved with healing bones. You will be responsible for applying and removing all types of casts and splints from newborns to geriatrics under the instruction of a physician. Supporting the orthopedic physicians in a professional manner in an outpatient clinic setting for all casting procedures. May also assist with orthopedic procedures, including would care, aspirations, minor surgical procedures and fracture reductions. Work is performed independently under the general supervision of a physician and is evaluated by satisfactory correction of orthopedic problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Must have good working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 Coding. Must be able to maintain composure under difficult and stressful conditions. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and practice discretion. Must be able to work independently with little supervision. Displays tact and diplomacy in inter-personal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two to five years of experience in a physician office setting with casting/splinting is preferred. Completion of a training program from a hospital, community college, technical school or the military is a plus.
Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Constant (67%-100%) - handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%)- lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching, reaching
Occasionally (1%-33%)- climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing
