The opportunity

Hitachi Energy is seeking a collaborative and strategic Training Center Manager to lead the daily operations of our South Boston Training Center. In this highly visible role, you will oversee facilities, training resources, systems, schedules, budgets, and personnel to ensure the successful delivery of impactful learning programs that support business growth and operational excellence.
Working closely with factory leadership, Training Leaders, Human Resources, Safety, Quality, and other key stakeholders, you will drive alignment across training initiatives while ensuring efficient utilization of resources and a consistent learner experience. Beyond operational leadership, you will play a critical role in shaping workforce development strategies by identifying skill gaps, forecasting future capability needs, and implementing programs that strengthen organizational readiness and long-term success.

How you'll make an impact
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the South Boston Training Center, ensuring effective use of facilities, equipment, and learning resources.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to Training Center staff while fostering an engaging and positive learning environment.
- Partner with factory leadership and Training Leaders to coordinate and execute training activities that support business objectives.
- Manage training systems, reporting processes, records, and documentation to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Analyze training KPIs and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Operations, Human Resources, Safety, Quality, and other stakeholders to support workforce development initiatives.
- Drive workforce capability planning by identifying skill gaps, forecasting training demand, and aligning resources to future business needs.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts, curriculum reviews, and implementation of best practices to enhance learning outcomes.
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Training & Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience managing training operations, workforce development programs, educational environments, or similar functions.
- Proven experience leading teams, managing resources, budgets, schedules, and operational processes.
- Strong project management, communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience analyzing performance metrics and using data to drive operational improvements and learning effectiveness.
- Preferred experience in manufacturing, industrial environments, training centers, educational programs, or multi-site operations, with knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
