About the role
The Haleon R&D team supports the development of leading global and local brands in Consumer Health care. Analytical sciences is a specialized discipline providing support to new product development, by developing, validating and transfering state-of-the-art robust methods that enable the growth of the Consumer Health Business.
This role is to execute technical strategies in analytical chemistry and lead new method development, moderately complex problem solving, troubleshoot and solve analytical methodology issues in the Haleon network. This role is familiar with HPLC and GC and well established detection technology. This role displays continuing growth of knowledge of analytical chemistry. The role requires close collaboration with R&D Innovation &Development, R&D Lab Operation, Quality, Supply Chain and Regulatory etc.
Key responsibilities
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration: Acts as a scientific and technical leader, interfacing with internal and external partners (e.g., Formulation, Quality & Supply Chain, third-party facilities, business units) to provide end-to-end analytical chemistry support.
- Project Leadership & Strategic Planning: Serves as the analytical lead for New Product Development (NPD) projects, developing fit-for-purpose analytical strategies aligned with the regulatory pathway.
- Technical Execution: Applies deep technical expertise to design experiments, contribute to project planning, and independently complete complex tasks.
- Internal Scientific Resource: Functions as a key scientific resource and subject matter expert within the analytical team.
- Innovation in Method Development: Creates innovative analytical methodologies and approaches.
- Problem-Solving: Develops novel solutions to address moderately complex technical challenges.
- Business Development Support: Leads or participates in due diligence, evaluation of new business opportunities, and product assessments as required.
- Effective Communication: Possesses advanced writing and presentation skills, capable of tailoring messages for a variety of audiences
Qualifications and skills
Essential
- Education & Experience: Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry; or an M.S. in Chemistry with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or a B.S. in Chemistry with at least 6 years of experience in the analytical sciences field within the Rx, OTC, or consumer products industry.
- Technical Expertise: Solid knowledge of separation sciences, with demonstrated skill in developing scientifically sound and robust analytical methods for release, stability testing, and complex problem-solving.
- Analytical & Strategic Skills: Proven ability to critically evaluate data, develop problem-solving strategies, and make sound scientific judgments.
- Regulatory Knowledge & Compliance: Working knowledge of cGMP requirements as they apply to analytical chemistry within product development.
- Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and influencing skills, with the ability to operate successfully within a complex, matrixed organizational environment.
