Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Female Consultant Breast Oncoplastic Surgeon to join a leading healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi.The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive surgical management of patients with breast cancer and benign breast conditions, with particular expertise in breast-conserving surgery, oncoplastic techniques, mastectomy, axillary surgery, and breast reconstruction.The role requires close collaboration with breast radiologists, pathologists, medical and radiation oncologists, plastic surgeons, specialist nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary breast care team.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide consultant-level assessment and management of patients with breast cancer and benign breast disease.Perform advanced breast surgical procedures, including:Breast-conserving surgery / lumpectomyOncoplastic breast-conserving surgerySkin-sparing and nipple-sparing mastectomySentinel lymph node biopsyAxillary lymph node dissectionExcision of breast lesionsSurgery for locally advanced and recurrent breast cancerApply advanced oncoplastic techniques to achieve optimal oncological and cosmetic outcomes.Assess patients for immediate and delayed breast reconstruction and collaborate with plastic/reconstructive surgeons where appropriate.Manage patients with high-risk or hereditary breast cancer and perform risk-reducing surgery when indicated.Participate in multidisciplinary breast cancer meetings and contribute to individualized treatment planning.Provide comprehensive pre-operative counselling regarding treatment options, surgical risks, reconstruction, cosmetic outcomes, and recovery.Provide post-operative care and manage surgical complications.Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and service development.Support the education, training, and supervision of residents, fellows, and junior medical staff.Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure timely completion of operative and medical reports.Practice according to UAE regulations, institutional policies, and recognized international standards.Required QualificationsMBBS, MBChB, MD, or equivalent medical degree.Recognized postgraduate qualification in General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Surgical Oncology, or equivalent.Fellowship or formal subspecialty training in Breast Surgery / Oncoplastic Breast Surgery / Surgical Oncology is highly desirable.Valid UAE professional license or eligibility for licensing in Abu Dhabi.Recognized Board Certification or equivalent specialist qualification.ExperienceSignificant post-specialty experience at Consultant level in Breast Surgery / Breast Oncoplastic Surgery.Strong recent experience in breast surgical oncology and oncoplastic procedures.Demonstrated experience managing complex breast cancer cases in a tertiary-care or comprehensive cancer setting.Proven experience with breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy, sentinel node procedures, and axillary surgery.Experience in immediate breast reconstruction or close collaboration with reconstructive/plastic surgery teams is highly desirable.Experience working within a multidisciplinary breast cancer team is essential.Academic, teaching, research, or clinical leadership experience will be an advantage.Key Clinical CompetenciesBreast surgical oncologyOncoplastic breast surgeryBreast-conserving surgeryMastectomySkin- and nipple-sparing mastectomySentinel lymph node biopsyAxillary surgeryBreast reconstruction planningManagement of benign breast diseaseHigh-risk breast cancer managementMultidisciplinary breast cancer careCandidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will be a highly skilled Female Consultant Breast Oncoplastic Surgeon with excellent surgical judgment, advanced technical skills, and a strong commitment to patient-centred care.Candidates should demonstrate:Excellent clinical and surgical decision-making.Strong expertise in modern breast oncology and oncoplastic techniques.Excellent communication and patient counselling skills.Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.Commitment to clinical excellence and continuous professional development.Strong interest in teaching, research, and service development.Professionalism, empathy, and sensitivity when caring for patients with breast cancer.What We OfferCompetitive consultant-level compensation.Professional and supportive multidisciplinary environment.Opportunity to work with advanced breast cancer and surgical services.Continuing professional development and educational opportunities.Exposure to complex breast oncology and oncoplastic cases.Attractive benefits package in accordance with organizational policy.
