As a Diagnostic Assistant at MercyOne, you will:

  • Transport patients to and from Radiology from other patient care areas
  • Assure proper patient identification using 2 (two) forms of verification prior to patient transport
  • Assess patients' transport needs and alters transport plan as appropriate
  • Communicate to other areas patient location in radiology
  • Use oxygen when appropriate at proper levels
  • Assist in transferring patients to procedure table utilizing proper body mechanics and safe transfer techniques
  • Consult with health team members as needed. Ensures "hand-off" communication is completed
  • Assure quality patient care in an environment of dignity, worth, and confidentiality
  • Answer patient call light within Radiology
  • Transport specimens to the lab as directed by staff per infection control policy

Schedule:

  • Per Diem (PRN)

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • HS/GED
  • 0 – 2 years – prior patient care experience preferred
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred
  • BLS
  • Mandatory Reporter Training
