Description
Job Overview
As an Associate BOM Product Engineer, you will play a foundational role in implementing Marvin product data and rules within PIM systems to ensure accurate translation of configured product data for manufacturing. Your work supports products quoted in Marvin’s Quote and Order Management (QOM) application. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to research, prepare, and configure database elements that drive both quoting and manufacturing systems. With a strong focus on detail, creativity, and conscientious execution, you’ll help enhance the stability and usability of back-end applications while building expertise in product configuration and system logic
Highlights of your role
- Collaborate with R&D, Product Engineers, manufacturing, and other internal stakeholders to gather and define end-user requirements and specifications.
- Convert product specifications, drawings, and manufacturing requirements into database elements that support accurate manufacturing rules and data—including BOMs, routings, and special calculations.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, R&D, manufacturing, and systems teams to develop test cases, debug issues, maintain and improve software, and recommend enhancements based on user feedback.
- Create flow charts and documentation to support new product entries and guide future development projects.
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
- Maintain BOMs, routings, and other manufacturing product data within PMU, a proprietary low code rules engine built on .net framework.
- Data mine product data and logic from existing systems written in multiple languages and database structures including C#, PL/SQL, VB, .NET, Oracle, as well as other proprietary tools.
- Work with data stewards to ensure accurate and consistent setup of supporting manufacturing data in D365 and other systems to support BOM development.
- Review engineering prints, AutoCAD/Inventor models, and other technical documentation maintained by R&D to define a BOM structure that reflects the product design while fully supporting manufacturing processes and system requirements.
- Document product data and system changes to maintain an accurate history and support future changes.
- Test product data and system changes against legacy systems and project requirements.
- Assist business partners in sales/support and manufacturing in day-to-day activities to support custom orders and fix issues found in production ensuring that clean accurate data flows between systems for incoming orders.
