Position: Engineering Technician, OXO

Department: Engineering – OXO

Work Location: New York, NY

Position will be 100% onsite (M-F); 9-5 p.m.

What you will be doing: 

  • Perform regular maintenance on all 3D printing equipment (and sometimes other lab equipment).

  • Troubleshoot and repair any 3D printer related issues – includes working with the machine supplier.

  • Administer testing of products, components, and subsystems per development test plans throughout various stages of the product development lifecycle.

  • Perform large-sample validation testing prior to the production launch of new and revised products.

  • Generate comprehensive test documentation, including written reports, data tables, photos, and videos.

  • Design and build custom test fixtures, rigs, and equipment to support product evaluation.

  • Communicate testing results, observations, and unexpected findings to product engineering teams in a timely manner.

  • Maintain engineering labs, tools, equipment, and workspaces to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient testing environment.

  • Monitor inventory levels of lab supplies, tools, and components and coordinate replenishment as needed.

Skills needed to be successful in this role: 

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated accountability, action orientation, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • 1+ years of experience in a product testing, engineering lab, or similar technical environment.

  • Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo.

  • Experience performing mechanical testing, collecting data, and documenting results.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using shop equipment, hand tools, and power tools.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.

  • Ability to work between office and laboratory setting.

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology (Mechanical) or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with machine programming and electronics.

  • Experience working with automated systems.

  • Experience designing and building custom test fixtures or equipment.

In New York City, the standard base pay range for this role is $29.00-$31.00 hourly. This pay range is specific to New York City and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
