Description
Bulldog Central is Pitt Community College’s one-stop hub for student support, providing guidance, resources, and friendly assistance to help students navigate their college experience. As the first point of contact for many students, Bulldog Central plays a vital role in fostering a welcoming and supportive campus environment.
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and student-focused individual to serve as a Part-Time Support Specialist. This role is essential in creating a positive first impression and ensuring students, staff, and visitors receive accurate information and compassionate support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Greet students, staff, and visitors warmly and professionally.
•Serve as the first point of contact for Bulldog Central inquiries.
•Provide accurate information about services, events, and campus resources.
•Answer phones, emails and respond to walk-in traffic.
•Direct individuals to appropriate departments or campus locations.
•Maintain front desk supplies and ensure the area is clean and welcoming.
•Assist students in navigating online systems and digital tools.
•Listen actively to student concerns and provide compassionate responses.
•Refer students to appropriate support services when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Prior experience in a front desk or customer service role
• Ability to interact professionally and empathetically with diverse populations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate’s degree or higher.
• Prior experience in a student services role - preferably in a college or educational setting.

Supplemental Information
Normal Working Hours: Part-Time, up to 29 hours per week as determined by the supervisor and department needs.
