Northrop Grumman is an industry leader in Stealth Technology. We are involved in all phases of development, production, and maintenance of Low Observable (LO) platforms.  We are currently looking for Stealth / Low Observable / Radar Cross Section (RCS) / Signature / Survivability Engineers to work on exciting and challenging projects.

Northrop Grumman is looking to higher a Principal/Senior Principal Survivability Engineer – Integration Lead. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

The Survivability core competencies are as follows:

  • Develops and integrates advanced technology to reduce the detectability of aircraft in the electromagnetic, infrared, visual and acoustic spectrums
  • Develops and implements predictive analysis codes; builds and tests physical models; designs, develops and builds test and verification equipment; and develops, tests and integrates specialty materials
  • Works closely with engineers of other disciplines to optimize the integration of this technology on existing and future aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in various process teams and ad hoc groups to develop Low Observable related system requirements, as well as operational employment plans and concepts.
  • Manage and maintain Survivability Product Design Requirements
  • Coordinate product changes with multiple-disciplined stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education Experience Requirement:
    • Principal Engineer (LV3): Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 years of related engineering experience.
    • Senior Principal Engineer (LV4): Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related engineering experience.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in requirements management and integration
  • Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
  • Experienced in one or more CAD software solutions such as CATIA, Unigraphics, NX
  • Must have an active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance (or higher) that is in-scope (granted or renewed in the last 6 years).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in signature reduction technology integration, RCS design, analysis, testing, and material development.
  • Familiarity with RF modeling and testing at an indoor/outdoor RCS/RF test facility
  • Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills to enable effective personal interaction and collaboration with a multi-disciplined team and customers.
  • Applied Electromagnetics and/or Aircraft Survivability; or Comprehensive understanding of Electromagnetic Energy transmission though space and within materials
  • Strong knowledge of low observables and RCS performance.
  • Master’s degree in Physics, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
  • Ability to work with internal support organizations such as Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain and Security
  • Experienced in one or more CAD software solutions such as CATIA, Unigraphics, NX
  • Active/Current Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,200.00 - $162,400.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,000.00 - $202,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
