We are seeking a talented individual to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team at Mercer. This role will be based in Gurugram. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office

The Manager - Financial Planning & Analysis collaborates with the FP&A team to provide trusted financial reporting. By creating, tracking, and analyzing budgets, forecasts, and financial results, this role develops performance insights that contribute to critical business decision-making and strategic planning. The role is expected to become an expert in FP&A reporting systems and help drive reporting standardization and process efficiency.

We will count on you to

  • Analyze financial data and quantitative information to support sound and defensible recommendations.
  • Review financial planning information and reports and recommend changes to management where appropriate.
  • Conduct audit-related activities to support compliance requirements.
  • Maintain best-practice policies to support compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Communicate consistently with management to support sound fiscal management.
  • Assist in the month-end close process by preparing recurring, standard, and ad hoc reports and researching general ledger activities and variances to budget and prior year.
  • Evaluate financial plans by identifying financial outcomes and potential returns.
  • Support the development of budgets and quarterly forecasts and track and report initiatives.
  • Prepare financial planning information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Strengthen financial planning expertise by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, building networks, and benchmarking leading practices.
  • Be flexible to work in shifts if needed.

What you need to have: 

  • Overall 6+ years of relevant business experience in Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Ability to understand and articulate the financial impact of decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to show initiative and contribute to a continuous improvement environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong capability in data analysis, data extraction, and data manipulation.
  • Comfort presenting to regional team members and appropriately challenging the team when needed.
  • Proven track record of delivering to deadlines.
  • Active team player with the ability to work across geographies.
  • Openness to new challenges and willingness to undertake additional responsibilities.
  • Minimum 12 months experience as Manager/Lead Specialist/Deputy Manager
  • Should have at least “On Track” or equivalent rating in last appraisal
  • Should not be under any Performance Continuity Plan, or had any official Disciplinary action within the last 3 months.
  • Should not have applied for any other IJP within Mercer in the last 3 months
