## About the role
Responsible for the management and oversight in the delivery of financial, regulatory, tax, performance reporting requirements in support of the investment products manufactured by ATB Investment Management Inc. (“ATBIM”). This role leads the investment fund finance team in managing day to day responsibilities that encompass ongoing fund administration and the financial reporting and audit cycles.
## Accountabilities
- Responsible for annual and semi-annual financial and regulatory reporting and audit cycles for ATBIM’s investment products.
- Oversees the Investment Fund Finance team and all day to day fund accounting, valuations, performance and reporting requirements.
- Oversee all tax compliance for ATB Funds, including year-end and ad-hoc distribution process, liaise with fund administrator, external tax advisors, accounting and operations teams.
- Ensures financial processes are performed in accordance with internal and operational controls, proactively identifying opportunities for improvements.
- Management and oversight of ATBIM’s third party service providers (custodian, administrators, auditors), monitoring service level agreements and accuracy of deliverables and adherence to all regulatory standards
- Participate in strategic initiatives and projects including product development and launch, implementation of tools and technology to enhance ATBIM’s investment management capabilities
- Leads the Investment Fund Finance team through performance planning and assessment, coaching, developmental planning and resolution of escalated issues to ensure effective performance of the team
- Collaborate internally with ATBIM leadership team and ATB Financial teams (Finance, Internal Assurance, Third Party Risk Management, Legal, etc).
## Skills, experience & requirements
- CPA or equivalent professional designation required
- 10-15+ years of progressive experience in the investment industry
- Tax training and experience considered a strong asset
- Subject matter expertise in industry rules and regulations, along with a strong understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape and proposed changes.
- Progressive leadership experience with the ability to motivate, coach and develop a high performing team
- Ability to engage teams across divisions, develop collaborative relationships and coordinate effectively to come to a mutual understanding to achieve aligned goals.
- Highly developed problem solving skills and professional judgment in handling complex or unexpected situations objectively by assessing situations, identifying and weighing alternative options, and making data-driven recommendations to solve problems.
- Ability to anticipate and identify business and regulatory issues, and deliver creative solutions and opportunities for improvements.
- Ability to work under pressure to manage competing and often time-sensitive priorities and deadlines with a high degree of ownership and accountability
