Job Description:

Essential Functions:
- On behalf of Advancement Operations, interfaces with donors and development staff to respond to questions and requests for more information, including pledge status reports and assistance with matching gifts.
- Actively participates as a member of the gift processing team, trained in all aspects of gift entry, reporting and reminders.
- Maintains up-to-date accounts with matching gift companies and third-party providers.
- Processes matching gift forms and tracks matching gift progress in Raiser's Edge.
- Serves as the office manager for Advancement Operations, managing supplies and coordinating as needed with Facilities.
- Works with the Advancement Record Coordinator in understanding the acknowledgment processes and serves as a backup in their absence.
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Information: We are currently recruiting for a second Gift Accounting Coordinator position. This is a separate opening from the position previously posted and represents an additional opportunity to join the team.
Work Schedule: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. This position works 35 hours per week with occasional nights and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administrative or accounting function or a combination of education and experience from which a similar background would be obtained.
- The Gift Accounting Coordinator must have exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Experience working with a comprehensive database and some knowledge of gift and pledge transactions.
- Must be a proficient user of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; experience with Raiser’s Edge or another relational database is a plus.
- Must be sensitive to confidential personal, giving and asset information, and must be able to work in an office setting and follow organizational protocol.
- The ideal candidate will have familiarity with higher education and the critical role information and data plays in alumni and development affairs.
- Collegiality, a positive outlook, and a desire to set an example with a strong work ethic are essential.
- Strong written communication skills. Ability to be self-directed and proactively suggest process improvement. Creativity, goal orientation, and attention to detail.
