We’re currently looking for an Occasional Babysitter in Sunnyvale, CA 94086
A lovely family near downtown Sunnyvale is seeking an Occasional Babysitter to assist with care for their almost-5 and almost-6 year old children. Care would be on an as needed basis, generally weekday evenings between the hours of 4:00pm and 10:00pm. On occasion, there could be an overnight stay or weekend needs. The family would be able to give at least a week’s notice for any upcoming needs.
The ideal candidate would be warm and engaging, with experience working with this age group. They need not be available for every request but should have some flexibility with notice.

Responsibilities
- All aspects of care and monitoring for two children, including:
- Engaging in developmentally appropriate activities
- Light meal prep
- Maintain child's schedules and routines as set by parents
- Communicate effectively with parent regarding child's daily activities, progress, and concerns that may arise
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for the children - help with light housework such as dishes, bottles, laundry, and organizing toys
- Facilitate bedtime routines and be present should a child wake up
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of paid professional childcare experience
- CPR certified, or willingness to become certified
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to provide 2 childcare-related references from a professional setting
- Able to successfully clear a background and social media screening
- Comfortable with a small, friendly dog
Compensation
This position pays $35 per hour and the family is looking for occasional back up care, and sometimes overnights. This position is on-going, as needed.
