Description
Lead a customer analytics practice that leverages customer, transactional, digital, customer service, survey, and other data sources to develop a comprehensive understanding of our customers and how their behavior is changing. Conduct deep analysis of customer shopping patterns and behaviors, identifying trends and changes in purchase frequency, retention, reactivation, product and category behavior, channel behavior, engagement, tenure, customer value, and other dimensions of customer performance. Move beyond reporting what happened to determine why customer behavior is changing, what it means for the business, and what actions Tailored Brands should take as a result. Utilize marketing and testing capabilities to develop a playbook of actions designed to improve customer segment performance and measure customer responsiveness. Lead the competitive analytics and market intelligence practice that provides leadership with a consistent understanding of Tailored Brands' competitive position, market dynamics, and emerging opportunities and risks. Develop frameworks for measuring and monitoring market share, market size, competitive position, customer overlap, category performance, and changes in the competitive landscape. Connect competitive insights with internal customer and business performance to understand not only what is happening in the market, but what it means for Tailored Brands and our customers. Translate competitive intelligence into actionable recommendations that inform marketing strategy, customer strategy, investment decisions, and broader business priorities. Own and manage relationships with third-party data, research, and analytics providers, serving as the primary analytics partner for competitive and market intelligence data sources. Partner with stakeholders across Marketing and Corporate functions, delivering actionable strategic and tactical recommendations through a consultative approach. Influence strategic decision-making by connecting analytical findings to broader company priorities and clearly articulating what the business should do as a result of the analysis. Present analyses in a clear, interpretable, and applicable way that can be shared Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts, providing clear direction, coaching, analytical guidance, feedback, and career development. Create a team culture that values intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, accountability, collaboration, and analytical rigor. Collaborate with Data Engineering colleagues to develop ongoing improvements to data quality, standardized definitions, governance, tools, and analytical approaches. Champion the thoughtful use of AI and emerging analytics technologies across the team to accelerate analysis, automate repetitive work, improve productivity, enhance storytelling, and identify insights that may otherwise be difficult to uncover. Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field such as Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience. 8+ years of experience in analytics, with progressive responsibility initiating, executing, and presenting complex analytical projects for cross-functional stakeholders. Demonstrated people leadership experience, with the ability to lead, mentor, develop, and motivate analysts while setting clear expectations and maintaining high standards for analytical quality and business impact. Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to challenge assumptions, identify the right questions to ask, investigate unexpected results, develop methodologies for ambiguous problems, and make sound recommendations from imperfect or incomplete information. Demonstrated executive presence and communication skills, with experience presenting complex analyses and strategic recommendations to senior executives, including C-suite audiences. Ability to communicate at the appropriate level of detail, anticipate and answer challenging questions, defend analytical approaches, and influence decisions through data and compelling storytelling. Ability to move fluidly between deep analytical work and executive-level communication, understanding when technical details are necessary and when the discussion should focus on business implications, recommendations, and actions. Experience working with third-party market, consumer, competitive, or syndicated data sources, including evaluating data quality, understanding methodological limitations, integrating external and internal datasets, and managing relationships with external data providers. Experience developing methodologies to measure market share, competitive position, market size, customer behavior, or similar metrics when direct measures are incomplete or unavailable. Fluent with complex SQL queries and dataset transformations across large datasets. Experience with quantitative customer and marketing analytics techniques, including segmentation, clustering, correlation, regression, and behavioral analysis. Deep experience with advanced data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms, with demonstrated ability to build executive-level reporting and derive actionable insights. Strong proficiency using AI and emerging analytics technologies to accelerate analysis, improve productivity, uncover insights, and enhance analytical workflows. Demonstrated ability to use AI thoughtfully rather than simply accepting generated outputs, including independently validating results, questioning conclusions, recognizing limitations, and applying sound analytical judgment. Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously. Experience with Scrum, Kanban, or traditional project management approaches and tools such as JIRA, GitHub, and Confluence. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to serve as a bridge among business stakeholders, Analytics, Data Science, Data Engineering, senior leadership, and external partners. Proven ability to deliver highly complex analytics projects involving methodology development, analysis, strategic recommendations, and executive-level presentation. Confidence to challenge existing thinking and clearly communicate the assumptions, uncertainty, and limitations of analyses when the data is imperfect. Experience with Python and/or R for data analysis. Web analytics experience required, preferably Google Analytics. Familiarity with marketing channels, agencies, competitive intelligence, and external data providers.
