Job Description:
As part of the Value & Access (V&A) organization, the Senior Manager, Channel Intelligence is a key member of the V&A Marketing, Strategy, and Operations team. The role is responsible for generating actionable business insights that support channel strategy, customer performance, contracting decisions, and product distribution.
Through the analysis of specialty pharmacy, distributor, inventory, demand, and market data, the Senior Manager develops scorecards, identifies opportunities, proactively assesses and mitigates business risks, and provides strategic recommendations to business stakeholders. In addition to leading channel intelligence activities, the role provides operational support for ongoing V&A initiatives, manages day to day reporting and business support activities, and executes short term tactical priorities to ensure the effective delivery of channel intelligence, data management, and business processes.
WHAT - Main Responsibilities
- Build and present customer scorecards measuring performance against contract.
- Support Account Director with analysis and interpretation of actual performance against requirements, and when requested, present scorecard to customers during Quarterly Business Reviews and contracting opportunities.
- Examine and analyze field intelligence data and internally discuss appropriate account strategies.
- Monitor and report on the inventory status of Ipsen products in customer warehouses and work with Account Directors to maintain adequate inventory levels to meet demand.
- Utilize available data sources to derive trends and business intelligence to support Specialty Pharmacy Providers, Institutional Specialty Pharmacy, and Distributor product movement and contracts.
- Interface with appropriate departments (Analytics, External Vendors, Finance) to address inconsistencies or share actionable information as necessary.
- Support Strategic Pricing and Contracting with Gross-to-Net calculations.
- Responsible for working with Data Aggregator and Data Interpreter companies to manage data deliverables.
- Execute analytics plans using diverse datasets such as Specialty Pharmacy Data, Demand, Inventory data, GPO, Formulary coverage, and non-retail sales data
- Conduct detailed assessments of competitor utilization and channel dynamics for strategic decision-making
- Translate complex market data into actionable insights for senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of channel intelligence strategies
- Maintain relationships with third-party vendors to ensure quality and cost-effective services
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop analytics and insights plans and increase efficiencies through process and analytics automation
- Collaborate within cross-functional teams (Finance, Commercial Operations, and Brand teams) to deliver impactful business insights
HOW - Knowledge & Experience
Knowledge & Experience (essential):
- 8+ years biopharma industry experience with a bachelor’s degree, and 6+ with a Master’s degree
- Advanced knowledge of the pharma and biotech distribution channel operations, and the role and services of each provider in the channel each serves.
- Knowledge of pharma and managed markets data sources (including 867, 852, EX-Factory, IQVIA DDD, IQVIA patient claims, Symphony Health, IntegriChain, Chargebacks, MMIT, DRG Managed Markets).
- Demonstrated ability to manage large data sets, work advanced spreadsheet functions, and collaborate with analytics vendors to deliver insightful and actionable information.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate changes and needs in the industry through interpretation of trends and data.
- Solid understanding of customer relations, contract negotiations, contract development
- PC literacy required: MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Previous experience of working in a global business with matrix management.
Knowledge & Experience (preferred):
- PC literacy desired: relational databases, flat files, FTP literacy, SQL
Education / Certifications (essential):
- BA/BS is a related field is required.
Education / Certifications (preferred):
- MBA is a plus.
Language(s) (essential):
- Fluent in English.
Compensation
The annual base salary range for this position is $127,000 - $180,000.
The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
This job is eligible to participate in our incentive compensation program as well as our long-term incentives program.
