About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Construction Estimator with hands-on jobsite experience to join a vertically integrated real estate development and construction firm based in US.
In this role, you will initially focus on preconstruction support, blueprint analysis, scope development, and cost estimating. As you prove successful and gain familiarity with active jobsites, the role will naturally expand into remote project management responsibilities across commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects.
Responsibilities
- Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings to identify scope gaps, constructability issues, and draft corresponding RFIs (Requests for Information).
- Build trade-specific RFPs, bid packages, scope sheets, and subcontract exhibits directly from plans and specifications.
- Identify qualified subcontractors and vendors, distribute bid packages, level bids, and reconcile exclusions and qualifications.
- Assemble comprehensive project budgets covering trade costs, allowances, contingency, and general conditions.
- Validate costs against market research, historical pricing, takeoffs, quotes, and vendor feedback.
- Identify value-engineering opportunities and potential owner-direct purchasing options.
- Support project, procurement, and long-lead schedules.
- Prepare clear scope narratives and handoff packages for the field Superintendent and project teams.
Requirements
- +5 years of experience in construction estimating, preconstruction, or project engineering.
- Meaningful field/jobsite experience (as a Field Engineer, Superintendent, or Assistant PM) to understand how preconstruction decisions impact real-world builds.
- Ability to read and coordinate multidisciplinary drawings (Architectural, Structural, Civil, MEP) and spot scope gaps.
- Proven track record of preparing bid packages, leveling bids, and managing vendor quotes.
- Professional written and spoken English fluency.
- Strong working knowledge of project controls, budgets, procurement, and change management.
- Ability to work independently and remain responsive in a fully remote environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar construction management software.
- Conversational or native Spanish skills (as many field crews and vendors are native Spanish speakers).
- 7–10 years of experience with full ownership of bid packages and budgeting.
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (aligned with Pacific Time, roughly 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT).
Compensation: USD compensation (contractor agreement).
Location: 100% remote opportunity.
