Location:  Johannesburg

We are looking for an experienced SAP Finance Project System Specialist to join a leading organisation and play a key role in the implementation, configuration, optimisation and ongoing support of SAP Finance and Project Systems.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands both the technical SAP environment and the business processes behind it, and who can work confidently with finance, operations, IT and senior stakeholders.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the design, configuration and optimisation of SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI) and Project Systems (PS) solutions.

• Working with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate these into effective SAP solutions.

• Supporting capital project processes and ensuring strong integration between SAP PS and FI/CO, MM and EAM/PM.

• Configuring SAP FI functionality including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, banking and financial reporting.

• Configuring SAP PS functionality including project profiles, WBS elements, planning, investment, results analysis, status and settlement profiles.

• Providing expert-level support, troubleshooting complex issues and supporting system upgrades and enhancements.

• Identifying opportunities to improve and standardise business processes through SAP.

• Working with global stakeholders to develop and implement harmonised solutions while accommodating local requirements.

• Developing and supporting testing, documentation, training and change management activities.

• Acting as a subject matter expert and providing guidance to other SAP and information systems professionals.

 

Required Skills:

• A relevant university degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.

• SAP certification.

• At least 5 years' experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance/FI.

• At least 5 years' experience with SAP Project Systems (PS).

• Experience across at least 3 full SAP implementation cycles.

• Strong hands-on SAP FI and PS configuration experience.

• Strong understanding of SAP PS for capital projects.

• Experience integrating SAP PS with FI/CO, MM and EAM/PM.

• Experience working across both SAP projects and production support environments.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Experience working with global and cross-cultural teams.
