Onsite Internal IT Systems and Security Engineer

Job Description

MileOne Autogroup is seeking an experienced IT Systems & Security Engineer to join our IT team and provide additional technical depth across our technology environment.

This position will be full time, onsite at our Corporate office in Towson, MD.

This position will work collaboratively with our existing IT team, providing additional expertise and coverage across infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, telecommunications, virtualization, cloud services, and enterprise systems.  The role is intended to complement the strengths of our current team while providing an additional resource for complex issues, cross-functional projects, and technical initiatives.

 

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded IT professional who enjoys working across different technologies, solving difficult problems, and helping others.

Compensation range: $85,000 - $125,000

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Work alongside existing IT team members to provide technical support and expertise across infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, telecommunications, virtualization, cloud services, and other enterprise technologies.

- Support cybersecurity initiatives including system hardening, vulnerability remediation, access controls, incident response, and monitoring.

- Serve as an additional escalation resource for complex technical issues, particularly those involving multiple systems or functional areas.

- Assist with troubleshooting, upgrades, migrations, implementations, and other IT projects.

- Participate in the organization's ISO 27001 certification and ongoing information security program, including controls, documentation, remediation, and continuous improvement.

- Assist with business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, and system resiliency efforts.

- Help identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, monitoring, automation, and operational efficiency.

- Provide technical guidance and share knowledge with team members.

- Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system diagrams.

- Work with internal teams and outside partners to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.

- Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

- Significant hands-on experience working in enterprise IT environments.

- Broad technical knowledge across multiple areas of IT, including infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, virtualization, telecommunications, identity, cloud services, and endpoint technologies.

- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work through complex issues that cross multiple technologies.

- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and enterprise security practices.

- Experience with ISO 27001, information security management systems, security frameworks, or compliance programs is strongly preferred.

- Proven experience with SIEM, SOC, or MDR solutions highly desired.

- Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies and work effectively across different technical areas.

- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

- A practical problem-solving approach with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through.

- Demonstrated technical experience, problem-solving ability, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse IT team are more important for this position.

- Relevant industry certifications are desired though hands-on experience can be substituted.
