Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary healthcare environment to help prevent the spread of infection and disease. This position performs routine cleaning, sanitizing, waste removal, and floor-care duties throughout patient and non-patient areas of the Medical Center while following established infection-control, safety, and departmental procedures.

Essential Functions

Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties in accordance with established schedules, organizational standards, and infection-control guidelines.

Maintains assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, orderly, and sanitary condition.

Completes waste stream removal and properly disposes of designated waste in accordance with established procedures.

Cleans and services assigned areas throughout the Medical Center.

Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies within and between departments as needed.

Performs a variety of housekeeping and environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat and sanitary condition.

Safely operates assigned cleaning and floor-care equipment, including floor machines and buffers.

Participates in a minimum of eight unit or department meetings annually.

Follows established safety, sanitation, and infection-prevention procedures at all times.

Schedule

Tuesday through Saturday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM.

 

Education High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Related experience 0-1 year preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely. - Working knowledge of various cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
