HR Manager – Specialty Services
The HR Manager serves as a strategic and hands-on HR partner to the Specialty Services business, working closely with operational leaders to support business objectives, employee performance, organizational effectiveness, and workforce needs. This position requires an experienced HR professional who can operate strategically while remaining comfortable handling day-to-day employee relations and transactional HR responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted HR business partner to Specialty Services leadership, providing guidance and support across a broad range of human resources matters.
- Partner with business leaders on performance management, employee development, succession planning, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
- Advise leaders on employee relations matters, corrective action, performance concerns, investigations, and appropriate resolution of workplace issues.
- Support organizational structure and design initiatives to ensure teams and resources are aligned with business needs.
- Build strong relationships with leaders and employees across multiple locations and develop a strong understanding of business operations and workforce challenges.
- Provide practical HR guidance that balances business objectives, employee needs, company policies, and employment law requirements.
- Identify HR and operational challenges, recommend solutions, and independently manage issues through resolution.
- Support performance review processes and partner with leadership to promote consistent and effective performance management practices.
- Utilize HR systems, technology, and data effectively to improve processes, communication, and decision-making.
- Partner with HR colleagues and other functional teams to ensure consistent HR practices and effective support across the organization.
- Maintain a hands-on approach and willingness to manage both strategic and transactional responsibilities, including employee investigations and other day-to-day HR needs.
- Travel to company locations and job sites as needed to build relationships, understand operations, and provide direct HR support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Progressive HR experience with strong exposure to HR business partnering, employee relations, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.
- Experience partnering directly with operational leaders and providing HR guidance at the management or senior leadership level.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, employee relations, and performance management.
- Experience with succession planning, workforce planning, or organizational design strongly preferred.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand operational priorities and translate them into practical HR solutions.
- Excellent judgment, problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong technology skills and the ability to effectively utilize HR systems and other business tools.
- Ability to independently manage priorities and responsibilities across multiple locations in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working in both strategic and hands-on capacities; no responsibility should be viewed as too transactional when business needs require support.
- Experience in industrial, construction, manufacturing, field services, or another multi-location operational environment is preferred.
- HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is a plus.
Position Requirements
- Primary work location: Dickinson, Texas.
- Approximately 25–30% travel, including overnight travel.
- Position is primarily onsite and field-based, with travel to company locations and job sites as business needs require.
- Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
Ability to influence and guide others, fostering collaboration and encouraging new perspectives.
