Investment Associate: Multi-Management - Private Markets

Our client is seeking an Investment Associate: Multi-Management – Private Markets to join a high-performing investment team. The successful candidate will support the leadership and strategic direction of the private markets fund investment portfolio while contributing across the full investment lifecycle, from deal sourcing and due diligence through to portfolio monitoring and exits. This opportunity is well suited to a commercially astute investment professional with private equity knowledge, strong financial analysis skills and experience within investments, fund of funds or multi-management environments.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the identification and sourcing of investment partners and opportunities.
• Conducting initial screening and desktop analysis of prospective investments.
• Preparing preliminary scoping and investment appraisal reports.
• Supporting transaction leads throughout the investment process.
• Conducting and coordinating due diligence on potential investment opportunities.
• Assisting with transaction structuring, pricing and term sheet negotiations.
• Reviewing and providing input on transaction agreements.
• Supporting the implementation and disbursement of approved transactions.
• Facilitating the handover of approved investments to relevant portfolio management teams.
• Monitoring a portfolio of funds, including quarterly reporting, valuations, risk management and compliance.
• Participating in transaction exit processes.

Requirements:

• An Honours degree in Finance, Financial Management, Investment Management, Accounting, Business, Economics or a related field.
• A Master’s degree would be advantageous.
• 4–6 years’ investment experience, with private equity, fund of funds or multi-manager experience advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of the private equity and private markets industry.
• An FAIS RE5 Certificate, or the ability to obtain it within six months of appointment.
• Strong investment analysis and basic financial modelling capabilities.
• Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Effective planning, organisation and time-management abilities.
• Excellent written, presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.
