Position Overview
Citadel Security USA is seeking dependable Unarmed Event Security Officers to assist with scheduled event operations in Arvada, Colorado. This role is suited for individuals who are comfortable working around large groups, maintaining a professional presence, and assisting guests while keeping assigned areas orderly and secure.
Officers will spend their shifts moving throughout designated areas, observing activity, assisting with access procedures, addressing concerns, and communicating with supervisors. The position requires good judgment, steady communication, and the ability to stay attentive during extended shifts.
Key Duties
Patrol & Security Presence
- Walk assigned areas regularly and remain alert to changing conditions.
- Monitor entrances, exits, walkways, gathering areas, and restricted locations.
- Identify unusual activity, hazards, property concerns, or violations of established procedures.
- Maintain a professional and noticeable security presence throughout assigned areas.
- Help safeguard client property, equipment, and other designated assets.
Entry Control & Attendee Support
- Monitor assigned entrances and controlled areas according to established procedures.
- Check credentials, passes, or other authorization when directed.
- Provide guests with basic directions and assistance when appropriate.
- Help maintain orderly movement through entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas.
- Address policy violations professionally and notify a supervisor when additional assistance is needed.
Incident Handling
- Respond to disturbances, safety concerns, medical situations, and other incidents within the scope of assigned duties.
- Contact supervisors or emergency personnel when circumstances require additional support.
- Follow established emergency procedures and supervisor instructions.
- Remain composed when dealing with difficult or unexpected situations.
- Avoid unnecessary escalation and use sound judgment when addressing security concerns.
Documentation & Communication
- Complete activity logs and other required shift documentation.
- Record incidents, unusual observations, hazards, and other relevant information.
- Provide timely updates to supervisors regarding developing situations.
- Communicate important information clearly during shift briefings and handoffs.
- Ensure required reports are factual, complete, and submitted according to company procedures.
Guest Relations
- Welcome and assist members of the public in a courteous manner when appropriate.
- Respond to routine questions and provide directions within assigned areas.
- Maintain respectful interactions with guests, staff, vendors, and client representatives.
- Help create an orderly environment through professional communication and conduct.
- Represent Citadel Security USA with reliability, courtesy, and professionalism.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Strong attention to surroundings and ability to recognize potential concerns.
- Clear verbal communication and basic written reporting skills.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with the public.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow written instructions, post orders, and supervisor direction.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior event security or general security experience.
- Customer service, hospitality, guest services, or public-facing work experience.
- Previous experience assisting with crowd movement or controlled access.
- Familiarity with basic incident documentation and activity reports.
- Experience working in environments where conditions and activity can change quickly.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a practical approach to resolving minor conflicts.
