Job Summary:
We are seeking a high-calibre Business Analyst to join the Post Trade Business Implementation & Analytics Team under HKEX's Operations Division. The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation and enhancement of HKEX's risk management platforms, including Value-at-Risk (VaR) initiatives and other strategic post-trade transformation programmes.This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, quantitative risk teams, IT development teams, and external vendors to translate business needs into effective system solutions. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of HKEX's risk infrastructure and support critical market risk management functions.
Job Duties:
Key Responsibilities
Lead business analysis activities for risk management and VaR platform implementation projects.
Engage with business users, risk management teams, operations teams, and other stakeholders to understand, analyze, and document high quality business requirements, prepare process flows and other project deliverables.
Collaborate with IT teams, quantitative risk teams and third-party vendors to evaluate solution options, review solution designs, functional specifications, and technical documentation to ensure requirements are accurately captured and traceable throughout the project lifecycle.
Facilitate workshops and requirement discussions to ensure alignment between business objectives and technology solutions.
Support impact assessments, gap analyses, and feasibility studies for new risk methodologies, regulatory changes, and platform enhancements.
Work closely with project managers and development teams to manage requirements, scope, dependencies, risks, and change requests.
Develop and execute UAT strategies and test scenarios.
Support project delivery from initiation through implementation, ensuring milestones are delivered on schedule and meet business expectations.
Key Requirements
University degree in Risk Management, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related disciplines.
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within financial market infrastructure, exchanges, clearing houses, banks, or risk management environments.
Experience delivering large-scale system implementation projects involving risk management, margining, VaR, pricing, or post-trade systems.
Solid understanding of market risk concepts, including Value-at-Risk (VaR), margin methodologies, stress testing, or derivatives products. Knowledge of clearing and post-trade operations is an advantage.
Strong experience in requirements gathering, business process modelling, functional analysis, and solution design.
Proven ability to work effectively with both business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver technology solutions.
Familiarity with SDLC, Agile delivery methodologies, and project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Experience with SQL, Python, data analysis tools, or reporting solutions is preferred.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
Experience in exchange, clearing, risk management, or regulatory environments will be highly regarded.
