What Our Veterinary Assistants Do
- Support veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians with patient care and daily hospital operations
- Assist with patient handling and restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Gather patient histories, vital signs, and other relevant information
- Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces for patient care
- Assist with diagnostic sample collection and laboratory procedures based on experience
- Support surgical and dental procedures, including patient preparation and recovery
- Help monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the medical team
- Assist with medications, treatments, and other patient-care tasks as directed
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and teammates
- Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and hospital spaces clean, organized, and well stocked
- Collaborate with the entire hospital team to maintain an efficient workflow and exceptional patient experience
