University Christian School is seeking dedicated and flexible Substitute Teachers to provide instruction and classroom management in the absence of regular teaching staff. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a Christ-centered, safe, and engaging learning environment where students can continue to grow academically and spiritually.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Follow and implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher.
- Maintain classroom order and a positive learning atmosphere aligned with UCS values and behavioral expectations.
- Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, and other assigned areas.
- Adapt to various grade levels and subjects as needed.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration.
- Uphold the mission of University Christian School to provide a Christ-centered education that equips students spiritually, academically, and socially.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to manage a classroom and maintain a positive, respectful environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the values and mission of University Christian School.
- Must pass a Level 2 background check and any additional screenings required by UCS.
Work Schedule
- On-call, as needed basis during the school year.
- Assignments may range from partial-day coverage to multi-day assignments.
