Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering

The Role: 

• Design, procure, implement, and validate advanced automation and capital equipment to unlock

• Develop new automated equipment by coordinating its design, purchase, or construction, ensuring manufacturability, reliability, and lifecycle cost efficiency.

Establish and deploy globally standardized equipment platforms across sites to ensure consistent performance, simplified maintenance, shared spares, and accelerated technology.  

各製造拠点において一貫した性能を提供し、保全の簡素化、スペアパーツの共通化、技術導入の迅速化を実現するため、グローバル標準の設備プラットフォームを確立・展開する。 

• Enable production expansion at each site by driving the development and introduction of capacity‑scaling equipment—shortening ramp‑up time, de‑risking launches, and aligning with demand plans.

In this role you will: 

Key Responsibilities 

Automation & Equipment Development

• Design, procure, implement, and validate advanced automation systems and capital equipment to enhance operational efficiency and manufacturing scalability. 

高度な自動化システムおよび生産設備（設備投資案件）の企画、設計、調達、導入、検証を担当いただきます。 

• Identify, lead, and support continuous improvement initiatives and new equipment/process projects by developing detailed specifications, electrical drawings, implementation plans, and other required documentation.  

継続的改善（CI）活動や新規設備／プロセス導入プロジェクトを主導・支援し、設備仕様書、電気図面、導入計画書などの各種技術ドキュメントを作成します。 

• Evaluate existing processes and introduce new automation, tooling, or process‑improvement methods to enhance product flow, improve quality, increase first‑pass yield, and reduce cost and lead time.  

既存プロセスを評価し、自動化・治工具・新工法などの導入を通じて、生産フローの最適化、品質向上、初回合格率（FPY）の改善、コストおよびリードタイムの削減を実現します。 

• Create or revise work instructions, routings, and technical documentation; train production and maintenance teams on setup, operation, and troubleshooting of equipment and processes.  

作業手順書、工程ルーティング、技術文書の新規作成・改訂を行い、製造・保全部門向けに設備の立上げ、操作方法、トラブルシューティングに関する教育・トレーニングを実施します。 

Global Platform Standardization

• Establish, deploy, and continuously improve globally standardized equipment platforms across multiple manufacturing sites.  

複数の製造拠点にまたがるグローバル標準設備プラットフォームの構築、展開、および継続的な改善を推進します。 

• Ensure consistent equipment performance, simplified maintenance procedures, optimized spare‑parts strategies, and accelerated technology transfer.  

各拠点における設備性能の一貫性を確保し、保全作業の標準化・簡素化、スペアパーツ戦略の最適化を実現します。また、標準化された設備・技術の展開により、新規拠点や生産ライン立上げ時の移管を加速し、品質・生産性・立上げスピードの向上に貢献します。 

Manufacturing Performance & Collaboration 

部門間連携 

• Partner with manufacturing, quality, and supply‑chain teams to achieve 100% on‑time delivery performance by eliminating quality issues, resolving bottlenecks, and improving equipment performance and capacity.  

製造、品質、サプライチェーン各部門と密接に連携し、品質問題、ボトルネックの解消、設備性能および生産能力の改善を通じて、納期遵守率（On-Time Delivery）100％の達成を目指します。 

• Support readiness for new product introductions, ensuring equipment capabilities, documentation, and processes meet production requirements.  

新製品立上げ（NPI）に向けた生産設備導入を支援します。 

Traits we believe make a strong candidate: 

• A background in mechanical engineering or equipment design is preferred. 

機械工学、または生産設備・装置設計に関するバックグラウンドをお持ちの方。（歓迎） 

• Licensed mechanical engineer is preferred.  

機械設計技術者資格（機械系の有資格者）をお持ちの方。（歓迎） 

• Proficiency in designing mechanical components and automation mechanisms is preferred.  

機械部品および自動化機構の設計に関する知識・経験。（歓迎） 

• Experience with robotics integration, including robot programming and safety systems.  

ロボットインテグレーションの経験。（ロボットプログラミング、安全システムを含む） 

• Experience with vision systems, image processing, and camera‑based inspection technology.  

画像処理・ビジョンシステム・カメラ検査技術に関する経験。 

• Expertise in safety system design, including risk assessment, functional safety, and safety controller programming.  

リスクアセスメント、機能安全、セーフティコントローラのプログラミングなど、安全システム設計に関する専門知識。 

• Experience with mechanical reliability tools or statistical process control (SPC) is a plus.  

機械信頼性評価手法や統計的工程管理（SPC）の知識・経験。（あれば尚可） 

• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, OPC UA, a plus. EtherNet/IP、Modbus、OPC UA などの産業用通信プロトコルに関する知識。（あれば尚可） 

• Experience with SQL—specifically MS‑SQL—and the ability to navigate, create, and optimize databases for historical data storage and data analysis is a plus. 

SQL（特に MS‑SQL）に関する基礎知識を有し、履歴データ管理やデータ分析のためのデータベース操作・最適化ができる方。（あれば尚可） 

• Familiarity with electrical systems and control panel design, such as wiring diagrams, sensors, actuators, and power distribution.  

配線図、センサー、アクチュエータ、電源分配など、電気系システムおよび制御盤設計に関する基礎的理解。 

• Capability to perform root‑cause analysis using structured methods such as 5‑Why, FMEA, or fishbone analysis. 

特性要因図などの構造的手法を用いた原因解析（RCA）を実行できる能力。 

• Strong project management skills, including requirement definition, scheduling, and cross‑functional communication.
